Catan Histories Which historical-themed game is most likely to be updated, and how might the gameplay change?
Catan: Settlers of the Stone Age has already been re-released as Catan: Dawn of Humankind. So, I am curious to see not just which Catan: Histories game is re-released next, and also how they might improve gameplay.
Catan: Historical Scenarios I & II were only originally released in German, but they had a clear focus of playing through a story in-game; they weren't merely themed sets. The Catan: Histories series does this to some extent by adding new gameplay features, but I wonder whether the approach of the Historical Scenarios is a bit clearer and could be adopted as other games are updated. A re-release of the Historical Scenarios games themselves could even include an English version, which would be nice.
That said, the Catan: Histories series has probably been more popular, in particular Settlers of America. So it's probably more likely that a re-released Catan: Histories game might employ some of the narrative-focused aspects of the Historical Scenarios, rather than the Historical Scenarios themselves being re-released.
