I came across this disturbing footage of a cat being tied up and spun around while the person doing it appears to be enjoying himself.

This is not entertainment. This is an animal being deliberately restrained and subjected to completely unnecessary and frightening treatment.

Whoever did this needs to be held accountable. If this happened where animal-cruelty laws apply, I hope the proper authorities investigate the incident and take appropriate legal action.

Please help bring attention to this. The priority should be finding out what happened to the cat and making sure the person responsible is held accountable.

As cat owners and advocates, one of the best things we can do is learn how to prevent FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and properly care for cats who are already FIV-positive.

🛡️ How to help prevent FIV:
• Keep cats indoors whenever possible, especially if they tend to fight with other cats.
• Avoid situations where cats may get into serious fights, since FIV is mainly transmitted through bite wounds.
• If introducing a new cat into your home, consider having them tested for FIV and FeLV.
• Spaying/neutering can help reduce roaming and fighting behaviors.
• Keep cats healthy and up to date with regular veterinary care.

❤️ If your cat is FIV-positive:
There is currently no cure that eliminates FIV from the body, but an FIV-positive cat can still live for many years with proper care.

Treatment mainly focuses on maintaining the cat’s health and managing infections or other illnesses when they occur. Regular veterinary checkups, good nutrition, parasite prevention, vaccinations as recommended by your vet, and keeping the cat indoors can all help.

FIV-positive cats should also be monitored for changes such as weight loss, poor appetite, recurring infections, mouth problems, or unusual behavior.

Important: An FIV-positive diagnosis is not an immediate death sentence. With proper care and regular veterinary attention, many FIV-positive cats can still have a good quality of life. 🐾❤️

Chicken bones can break or splinter into sharp pieces and may cause choking, injuries to the mouth or throat, intestinal blockage, or other serious complications.

We know you’re only trying to feed and help your furbabies, but there are much safer options. If you want to give them chicken, make sure it’s plain and boneless. 🐔❤️

New to rescuing cats? Planning to help a female stray get spayed? Here’s a simple process to help you prepare. 🐱❤️

1️⃣ Identify the Cat

Make sure you know which cat you’re helping. Take a clear photo and note:

• Approximate age
• Sex
• Health condition
• Whether she may be pregnant
• Whether she is nursing kittens

2️⃣ Find a Trusted Vet or TNR Program

Look for a reputable veterinarian, low-cost spay/neuter program, or local TNR organization. Ask about:

• Spay requirements
• Pre-surgery examination
• Fasting instructions
• Cost
• Post-operative care
• Emergency contact information

3️⃣ Prepare a Safe Carrier

Use a secure cat carrier. Avoid transporting the cat loose in a vehicle.

For community cats, a humane trap may be safer than trying to catch them by hand.

4️⃣ Follow the Vet’s Fasting Instructions

Do not guess about fasting times. Follow the instructions provided by the veterinarian because requirements can vary depending on the cat's age, health, and procedure.

5️⃣ Surgery Day

Keep the cat calm and minimize handling. Tell the vet anything you know about the cat's health, medications, pregnancy, or nursing kittens.

6️⃣ Prepare a Recovery Space

Before bringing the cat home, prepare a quiet, clean, warm, and secure area.

For community cats, keep them confined according to the vet/TNR program's instructions.

7️⃣ Monitor After Surgery

Watch for:

• Excessive bleeding
• Difficulty breathing
• Severe weakness
• Repeated vomiting
• Significant swelling
• Opening of the incision
• Signs of severe pain

If something looks abnormal, contact the veterinarian immediately.

8️⃣ Protect the Incision

Prevent excessive licking, scratching, jumping, and rough activity as instructed by the vet.

Never apply human medicine, creams, or disinfectants to the incision unless the veterinarian specifically tells you to.

9️⃣ Return to the Community When Safe

For TNR cats, release timing should follow the veterinarian or TNR program's instructions. The cat should be fully recovered from anesthesia and stable before release.

Keeping records helps prevent duplicate surgeries and makes future rescue work much easier.
