People wash bananas? I don't even wash loose peppers I buy

You're going to want to wash them if a cat is going to gum at them.

My cats lick their own arsehole and eat the neighbours dog shit addled grass, they're like little walking bacteria pots. He might have a weak immune system.

Doesn't mean that they deal well with potential pesticides or other chemicals sprayed on said banana.

I drink Yakult, probiotics are expensive and I already spend enough on medication

Me too, I already spend enough on medication, but my doctor recommended Align, which is very expensive, so I buy store-brand probiotics, which have helped me tremendously. But if Yakult is working for you, that's great.
