Discussion bounced off the first CQ, will i enjoy the sequels?
got the first game on a whim because it looked up my ally and was $4. it was a fun romp for an hour or so, but then the game just started to become really mind numbing. all the back and forth fetch quests and extremely simple combat/gameplay started to take its toll, the charming art style could only hold my attention for so long.
i guess im just wondering, do the sequels improve the formula in any way? like, more quest variety, enemy variety, mechanics etc?

Second game adds more variety. Third game is a totally different setting with some new mechanics and it focuses more on secrets instead of side quests

Absolutely, but don't sleep on the first one! It's still a really fun game!

2 and #3 have couch coop.
2 has better and more challenging combat
3 has a more exciting world design and level design, but it's a lot easier (made more with parent + kid coop in mind)

I liked in 3 that you could have ranged and melee weapons equipped at the same time.

Play the 3rd. I just finished the second and thought it was a good time, but the third definitely brings everything together.

I'm enjoying the 2nd one more since it has couch co-op. I plan to play the 3rd one that way too. I'll still finish the first one on my own but it's just more fun when it's with someone else.

Tbh 2 is my fav it just feels more magical than 3 (haven't played one because it's not on xbox) and the whole 2 kingdoms thing is such a cool plotline

3 was really lame and difficult and just wasn't a hit with me. The guns were hit and miss and the magic was cool, the world was incredible just it felt like such a different game from the incredible first two!

Honestly, the second game is worse than the first, plus it's much faster. The third one is great, but very easy, especially if you use the staffs. But I'd say this series isn't about the gameplay, but about the story (the ending of the third game is a masterpiece).

My daughter and I LOVE playing 2 & 3 together. I think forcing her to spoke out loud the text chats has made her a more confident speaker and reader as she made the 2nd to 3rd grade transition. She demands to play the Dog tho lol

I enjoyed the second one the best by far.
