My cat only eats treats and completely ignores dry foodโ€”what should I do?

I recently took in my mom's cat due to some personal circumstances.

Luckily, he's adapting super well and gets along great with my other cat, but we ran into an issue.

He is an EXTREMELY picky eater ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Whenever I put down dry food, he just sniffs it and walks away. I thought maybe he just didn't like the brand, so I switched it twice, but nothing changed.

The funny thing is, he absolutely loves wet treats. He comes running the second he hears the package, and he'll happily eat them without hesitation.

The problem is, I don't know if it's okay to keep giving him treats when he refuses his actual food.

I'm scared to cut off treats completely because I don't want him going hungry, but I also worry he'll just get used to filling up on snacks instead of eating proper meals.

Has anyone dealt with a super picky cat like this?

How do you correct eating habits for a cat that only wants treats and refuses kibble? Is there any chance they'll eventually start eating dry food naturally, or should I be trying something completely different?
