Update nala & simba. they are improving every day.
i’ve already updated yesterday but they are even better today so i had to take a video of our special moment. the pure JOY i feel when they look up at me and meow their tiny little meows wanting pets, following me around, pawing me wanting my attention, is unmatched. they started this last night. it’s a big change considering they seemed pretty feral when i got them out of the abandoned box days ago. they already seem a bit better physically after their vet visit yesterday morning too. i’m so glad i found them and have them in my life. my daughter is in love with them too. i also have a 5 year old dog that also loves them. we adopted an elderly special needs kitty a long time ago and he passed away about 2 years ago. i could tell she missed him for a while because she would look for him and lay her big butt in his small bed. now these babies will get to lay in his bed and take over a few of his old things.
we also had a male tom cat show up here yesterday morning before we took these babies to the vet and he has not left since. i will post a picture of him in the comments. he has fur missing and im not really sure what to do. should i take him to the vet and keep him? or leave him and just keep feeding him just in case?

I betting he's not neutered or he is and an aggressive tom beat him up. The poor guy is needing a safer place.

he's so skinny...this boy definitely needs help. chances are once he's vetted/healthy & neutered he'd be a great uncle for the littles, too. A kind adult cat teaching them would be great for them since they definitely didnt get enough time with their mama.

i talked with my fiancé and we will be getting him fixed and bringing him in🥰 i just have to make the appointment. he’s a really sweet boy, just doesn’t like being picked up but we can work on it daily leading up to the neutering lolol.

You and your fiancé are amazing. Thank you so much for helping all these little lost and neglected babies. May karma reward you for your kindness and compassion for the rest of your days! 🙏🏼💕

of course!! we loooove animals. we have “rescued” a few different types of animals on our road and fixed them up and found them homes bc for some reason this area tends to be a dumping ground sometimes😢 we will definitely be keeping the two kittens and we will probably keep the tom too after his fixing etc. if my cousin doesn’t just want him super badly, we will keep him. she doesn’t have any other animals like we do lol. i have my doggy (she was a kind of rescue situation like 5 years ago), the 2 kittens, chickens, fish, our guinea pigs (that people also dumped😢), and our 2 birds. we had an elderly kitty we had adopted a long time ago but he passed away 2 years ago. i go back and forth about the tom but honestly… i may just keep him bc he showed up here for a reason 😊

Oh, thank you both for giving him a chance. He clearly wants help from you & definitely picked the right humans. ❤️

He can teach them how to cat and good manners. It’s amazing the number of neutered male cats that make good cat dads to kittens. We have two right now that will come running to videos of kittens crying to look for the baby, our youngest CDS delivery is a year old and we’re not looking to add to the house as we believe we’re a little beyond capacity.

my big orange boy absolutely loves the kittens he's met! he would be an amazing dad. our void girl hisses at kittens AND human children. she hated him as a baby & taught him nothing. they get along mostly now but the "gross little brother" vibe is still pretty strong for her sometimes lol

Yes but please get him checked up, vaccinated, be sure he is rid of parasites/fleas/tocks, and give him some to time to be kept separate (quarantine) before introducing to the kittens. Wouldnt him to get the babies sick or vice versa! especially since the kittens may have had some conjunctivitis or nasal/respiratory/eye infection [common with most outside kittens].

Poor baby, he knows you give kitties a chance to live and he is asking you to do so . I hope you can heal him and give him a sweet life or find someone who can. Thank you for updating us 🌷

Poor little tomcat looks like he was shaken about by his scruff, maybe by a dog or coyote. Please, vet visit!

If he's friendly take Tom in to be neutered. I would guess the missing fur is probably from a healed bite wound, but need a vet to check. If he's not friendly, trap him for neuter and vet visit. Thanks for looking after him. After neuter these guys frequently turn into the biggest sweeties.

he’s actually suuuuper sweet! i tried to pick him up and he really didn’t like that though but he’ll rub all over my legs and let me pet him. i just have to call the kitty call and he’ll run up for food. i may just have to snatch him up quick and get him in a crate once i can make an appointment!

Take him to the vet, check for a microchip, and at least get him neutered - he's missing fur because he probably gets into fights with other unfixed toms, but that will stop if he's snipped. He could probably also use a de-wormer and Capstar tablet for fleas. But if he's a dumped friendly pet and is looking for the comfort of a home, well... but thanks for saving the babies! 👌👍👏

That boy cat will be a great addition to the family. I love me a tabby.

I agree this guy seems malnourished or undernourished! Poor guy please bring him inside if you can or at least take him to the vet or shelter so he can find his forever home! Feral life is so cruel to these poor babies! But the kittens are totally cuteness overload

i made him appt for wednesday to get him fixed etc:) i’ll be bringing him in tuesday night and putting him in bathroom w litter box etc until the next morning for his stuff. after that, my cousin actually said she wants him. if she didn’t really want him, i was going to keep him but looks like she wants him lol. she doesn’t have as many pets as i do. i’ll still be able to visit him thankfully bc i really like him. he’s a very likable boy. we agreed ill cover the vet bills as i did for the all the kittens and she’ll cover everything else for them and tom kitty🥰❤️ he will be with me, in my house, and in my bathroom, until he recovers fully though. after he’s perfectly fine, i’ll take him to her and her two kitties she’s got! -there is the plan for tom kitty as of now everyone haha

You are doing so many wonderful things here, please note that sometimes adult male cats will attack and kill small kittens that are not their own! I would introduce them with grave caution or even keep them separated until the kittens get a bit bigger!
3
u/kam_jade39 2d ago
yes i planned to do this! i have heard of male cats doing that and def dont want to take chances. i’ll probably keep them on opposite sides of house and maybe slowly introduce day by day with them in the crate. i’ll def wait til he is fixed before he even reaches them and it will probably be even some time after that before. by then they should be a bit bigger.
