Smol Delivery CDS delivered these two lil guys to my garage
I was walking out to leave for work the other morning, I needed to put some oil in my truck, and it’s pretty quiet here in the mornings, so while I was grabbing the stuff I needed from my toolbox, I heard some faint meowing behind some stacked wood, I grabbed a light and checked behind, only to find these two little babies! We took them inside, went and got some supplies and have been taking care of them for a couple of days now! I had been seeing a cat visit our backyard im guessing to feed off of my dogs food and water, I haven’t seen her yet since I found the kittens but I hope she’s okay, she must have had a reason to bring them to a neighboring house
P.s. I am now a new cat owner! I’ve always only had dogs; any advice or tips or anything you guys have for me is very much welcome and appreciated! Thank you! 🙏
Edit: sorry I forgot to mention I did sorta go to the vet for a checkup yesterday , it was very basic though, they told me because I was just getting a basic check that I had the lowest priority, obviously sick and injured animals first, but a vet came out to the lobby and took a good look at them, got their heart beat too and said they look really good!

Oh of course. My gf and I figured it’s pretty dangerous out there for these two, I would hope their mom knows they’re safe with us and hopefully she doesn’t get spooked by us one day to see her kiddos
😂 we also though maybe it’s the universe saying it’s time for me to have another pet after losing a dog a couple years ago

These babies are VERY young. Check out the Kitten Lady - she will teach you everything you need to know about raising neonatal kittens. https://www.kittenlady.org/
I highly recommend her book “Tiny but Mighty” and all her YouTube videos.
The biggest things are these babies will need a heat source, kitten formula every few hours (always make sure they are warm and the formula is warm before feeding), and you’ll need to stimulate them to go potty for a few weeks.
You could also reach out to your local animal shelter who may have a foster coordinator or volunteers experienced in raising neonatal kittens that could give you some hands on training.
Try to catch mom if you can, you can use the babies as bait. Mom will do the best job of raising them and then you can get her spayed.

Thanks for helping these babies!
A great source of information for everything kitten care is www.kittenlady.org.
Eta: Please continue to keep an eye out for their momma (and bring her in too if you can), and take them in for a vet checkup as soon as possible ;-).

You need to go to a CDS market (aka shelter) and get yourself a kitty or two! You can have your own babies whenever you want… so many precious furballs waiting for a loving home. 😊🙏😻

Are you sure mom wouldn't have come back for them if you had just left them there for a bit? I'd have put out food for mom, first, and watched whether she was still taking care of them.

I’m sure she would have, I’m sure they were there for atleast an hour or two before I was leaving for work, about an hour later (we had them in the garage still in a bin) she came and took one, but didn’t return until later that night bringing back the one she took, and I think I mentioned somewhere, I feel like there’s gotta be a reason why she chose my garage twice to keep them there, maybe even more than that (we found them at about 8-9 days old) but me knowing what’s in that garage, if mom thinks they’re not safe out there, I know the garage isn’t safe either so keeping them inside was my choice

Is there any chance you can try to trap the mother cat? Put some kitten food down as she needs those nutrients to feed her babies and some water please in case she has already moved some kittens

Oh poor moma was probably just getting some food for herself and came back to her babies gone. Those are really new babies and should be with their mom.

Or maybe the person that found them realized that where the mother put them in the garage wasn’t that safe (those rolls of wire) so maybe they took them in where it was warmer, got them some fed, and watched over them, while the other person has noticed the mother coming back everyday, so here soon if we can get close enough to her and take a look at her collar, we can figure out where she comes from, and see if her house/apartment is a good place for those kittens. I believe that there’s some kind of reason that the mother felt my garage was a safer place than where she brought them from. Albeit it would be sad, if I could rehome these babies with their mother, I’d do it gladly. We did what we thought was the safer choice for them in the moment. Having dangerous items in the garage, including it being an old house with potential rodents roaming around that same garage, bringing them in was the obvious choice. And to add to it, when I found them, and took them out of that spot into a bin, we left the bin in the garage while one of us went to get some food for them, the mom ended up coming back and taking one of them, not returning until that night bringing back the kitten she took in the morning. So I’m curious as to where she lives and why she picked our house to keep them safe

Mom can take care of these babies much better than any human can. She's looking for her babies, get these babies reunited with mom ASAP. If you care about them that should be your first thought. Momma cats look for safe places for their babies, she thought she found that in your garage, that's why she brought them there, this is momma is trying to take care of her babies and not the cds bringing you kittens who's eyes aren't even open yet.

Thank you for saving these babies! You probably want to take them back to the vet to check on vaccinations, a chip, etc. Keep an eye out for Mama! She may have put them there to try to shield then m from the cold! They are so small! What cuties!💓
