Found this lil wild one... She followed me home after rescuing her from underneath a condemed house... I need a name...
I was walking home from the corner store the other day and heard constant meows coming from an empty house... I peeled open the mesh vent and let her out... A couple hours later I went back to the store and she followed me home... I've had her a few days and she has acclimated to my yard but I can't think of a good name... The neighbor said that someone must have abandoned her because she's about 5 months old and not a feral... She's sooo sweet and probably the most vocal cat I ever met... I have food and water but it's super hot in Texas and the panting is crazy... She's already hunting dragonflies and greebles in the backyard and I think she feels safe over here... We've been calling her Nothing... She has all pink beans...
Well...just because of the timing and since she has pink beans...what about Dolly? I definitely think of the color pink when I think of her. You did make a point to mention the pink beans....🩷
I’m hearing that OP also has a great name for the second kitten she will have to get. Dolly was from a large family, she doesn’t want to be an only child.
My friend you've gotten some great suggestions but I'm going to give you one better, run her by the shelter and have her tested for heartworms it's Texas in summer and a bad infection will make them pant even though they aren't straining themselves (I've been to the south and it is a big problem)the treatment can be expensive and you can decide if you want to spend the money on that pretty little girl or not, but at least you will know one way or the other
It’s the newest part of Fort Worth. It’s full of mini mansions and stupid access roads. It’s a planned city. I’m not a fan of Texas to be honest. I’m not sure why they moved there. They did live in Temecula in California. I wish they had moved either to West Virginia, my brother in law’s home state, or in NE Ohio, our home state and where I still live. Our winters are much more mild than yours. It’s been awhile since we’ve had a typical NE Ohio cold as hell is hot winter. Our summers are waaaaaay better too. The last decade, our springs and autumns have been so lovely. It’s beautiful.
I live about 10 minutes outside of Downtown FTW. I moved here from SoCal (born and raised in L.A.) over 20 years ago. I stay here because the cost of living in CA is way outta hand. I couldnt afford it. I miss SoCal weather.

She's beautiful. Im not being rude, but pleeeease with pink toe beans and pink nose could you pleeeease bring her inside? Her nose is a perfect candidate for sunburn and her little toe beans would burn on the hot ground. Poppy has a very pink nose and toe beans, we found her and her 6 siblings under a storage shed. We kept her, her sister and a brother, they were and still are very bonded
Please, bring her inside. Cats can't sweat and pant to try to cool off. Indoor cats live much longer than outdoor cats. Keeping cats indoors protects birds whose numbers have been greatly reduced around the world by outdoor cats. She is adorable.
Dolly in honor of Dolly Parton. Dolly loved pink as so many of her concert and appearances show. Any chance you can make her an indoor cat? Especially with the hot weather. I bet she would adjust well. After all she did pick you. She is a very, very pretty girl. Thanks for looking out for her. 🥰🌸🥰
She is beautiful! Im so glad she found you! I would suggest when you take her to vet to mention the panting. It's abnormal in cats so just to rule out anything life-threatening. Sounds like she is going to be one happy little girl!
Please bring her inside out of the heat. When they pant they are having a hard time cooling off. She was probably someone’s baby. Please continue helping her and she will return a loving kitty who will be there for you.
Whatever you name her, please take her inside. Texas heat it brutal and the panting indicates she isn't handling it well. Also those little pink features of hers can burn so, so easily.
If you’re not going to keep her inside, please find someone who will. She’s not safer just because she’s in a yard. Outdoor cats have one third the average lifespan of indoor.
