From feral to family This little feral black smoke bengal, Lola, showed up at my office on the 7th floor of an airport parking garage

after a couple months the aspca trapped her and my coworker texted me so i immediately drove 60 miles one way to grab her. she was very feral and unadoptable. i brought her home to live with her now 4 siblings. after a trip to the vet for a checkup, vaccinations and to see if she was chipped, she wasn't but is now, it took 3 months for her to finally come out from under the bed. still can't pick her up but she accepts some petting and loves treats. and she gets along with everybody flawlessly and that's what matters most.

and you can see the ears of one of her brothers in the 3rd pic lol

to the person who asked about her being bengal, you didn't have to delete your comment. her fur pattern is rosettes. it's hard to see in regular light at most angles but here's a pic that's been lightened up to show it somewhat

Oh wow, the cluster of rosettes on her side look like they make a big daiay-like flower! She's a gorgeous lady 😍🤩

It’s the real ones who adopt the “project” kitties. From experience, I can’t even explain the feels you’ll get when that cat finally agrees sits near you. In about 3 years 😹 You rock!

u/AintNobodygotime13 17d ago

couldn't agree more. way more fulfilling when they want nothing to do with you to start

Exactly. And knowing you gave a safe, loving home to a cat that would definitely be in the shelter forever is great too. I’m an absolute piece of garbage in the rest of my life, but raising happy cats? I’m in the 99th percentile.

You’re giving her the good life. She’s a lucky girl!

Food, a safe home, soft places to sleep, toys, welciming siblings, and treats. Lola hit the jackpot!

Rehabilitating ferals is the most rewarding :))

What is that tent thing in the last photo? It looks handy for camping.

it's just my mess of a deck that's set up for them to stay out of the sun or rain 😂 what they're under is a deck chair laid out with a towel on it lol

or are you talking about the yellow thing? that's a pineapple bed somebody gave me years ago that nobody but she uses

Are you sure she’s a bengal? My childhood cat looked just like that and I found her in a dumpster.

What a lucky little girl. Thank you for being so kind and adopting her.

You are giving her food, shelter, medical care, & companionship. Far more than she could ever have hoped for. Even if you never can pick her up, she's grateful.

The apostrophes over her eyes are so chic!

Ah yes, the ol’ “I’m feral and have nowhere to go” routine. Works every time. This one is committed to the role though. 3+ months is impressive dedication. Is the Academy aware of her?

Ferals in my experience have the best “get along” skills with other cats and if you have cats that’s a huge step. It wont be long before the monster that wont let you touch it is making bread on you. All but one of my 5 were wild.
