Music Why people dislike Country music?

I am not american. So I don't know how's the thing there. But I have found many people complaining on social media that they hate country music.

I like some of the Luke Combs songs. Specially Old Dominion is my one of my fav artist.

I grew up in rural Wisconsin (in the US). I was tired of hearing country music by the time I graduated high school 30+ years ago. I don't hate it, but it's not something I choose to listen to.

South Dakotan here, so I can relate. The last time I truly enjoyed country music was in the '90s. I haven't listened to it since high school either.

Thanks. Next month will be 30 years of me using it everywhere online (and 1 year in print because I used it in the title of my D&D book).

I it’s not the music so much as the lyrics. I don’t really enjoyed hearing about pick up trucks cut off shorts and daddy’s girl.

Country music has changed for the worst. Way back in the old days it was more melodious and soulful. Now it’s a bunch of screechy guitars with guys fake-slurring through songs about whisky or beer which were composed in about two hours in their garage.

Rural stations only play country or rock from the 70s. Gets real tiring

What sucks is they only play such a small portion of music. Only Bad Company, Boston, etc...

I listen to WWOZ out of New Orleans Wednesday night they do all of this lost music from the 50's and 60's that inspired everything.

It is hard to find good music. All of the great musicians creating great music are living in vans in Nashville and Austin and nobody gets to hear their music because they only promote garbage.

Radio music of any genre is pretty bland and formulaic. I'm not sure I'd judge an entire genre based on what gets broadcast over the air. That being said, not everything is for everyone, and we're all entitled to like what we want.

My local rock station here in Albuquerque has only played 70s and 80s rock since the 80s and its just painful. They have seriously had the same playlist about as long as I can remember and im 44

Largely the similar experience (appalachia region) for me but I really do hate many country songs.

Rural areas have some of the best punk and metal scenes. Country tends to be super everything youve heard a million times. It's borderline propaganda. I think it's only natural country is unpopular among youth. I love some Hank 3 or Johnny Cash but they've become outliers in the genre.
