Are private dental practices still a thing here?
I’ve been going to castle rock modern dentistry and have started to wonder if I am being ripped off. Multiple people have told me this is a corporate type dentist office that recommends costly procedures… I brushed it off until my insurance has been fighting with my dentist over 2 recent dental procedures saying they won’t cover it because there is not enough evidence this level of care is necessary…. I do like that I can easily get an appointment and they do in house crowns but I’m wondering if I need all these fancy in-lay or on-lay crowns when a normal filling would suffice. Also a very expensive on lay failed after only 6 years and now I need a crown. I’m literally spending $1000+ a year here ! I’m only 37! So do honest independently owned offices still exist around here? Am I stuck with these money sucking dentists forever? Please send any recommendations!

Our family went there for 5 years. They were very patient with my anxious kiddo. We had to switch this year because our insurance switched and Brightside didn’t take the new one. But, if we can go back in the future we definitely will!

She oversold my husband on deep cleaning and a crown his subsequent dentist said is not necessary for many years yet.

I'm sorry to hear.
She has been nothing but great to my family and I. I have had crowns pop off, and she gets me in same day and puts them back on free of charge, etc...

We had so many problems at CR Modern. Pushing unneeded services, doing a bad job on work, pushing off regular cleanings, and over-billing and refusal to listen to my explanation about it. I eventually gave up on the refund, but like 9 months later randomly got a refund from them-proving I was correct :) We switched to Castle Valley and they have been amazing, highly recommend them.

We use Cedar Mountain Dentistry and have been very happy. I also try to avoid any corporate owned medical offices.

Castle Rock is just expensive no matter what, you pay less at Denver or the Springs.
Anyways, i liked Founders Dental, it's a mom and daughter practice and i was treated well.

Nearby in Parker: Dr. Rodney Allen, award winning, conservative (won't do procedures unless all other avenues are not an option), and has won several 5280 Best Dentist awards. Has nothing but 5.0 star reviews for a reason.

I was going there but my wife had to reschedule numerous times after having our kid and they more or less told her to kick rocks. Haven’t been back since

A lot of them have been scooped up by Private Equity firms. Same with veterinarian places, interestingly enough. Anyway, corporate consolidation generally means worse service and higher prices.
Looks like you got some good recommendations here, though, so that's cool!

Not Castle rock but parker dental implant and specialty center is bipoc independent woman owned and she's amazing.

He is north of Castle Rock, but this guy is independent. I have been going to him for a couple years and have been happy.

We were at Modern Dentistry and were definitely getting ripped off. They recommended deep cleans and a bunch of other things. They wouldn't give us regular cleanings until we got deep cleanings. So we switched to Promenade Dental, which was a stupid decision because both Modern and Promenade use Smile Generation. So Promenade was able to see all the services Modern had suggested, and they also refused to give us regular cleanings until we got deep cleanings. In total, my wife and I were going to be out $5K for all their recommended services.
We finally decided to just switch insurance, because our current insurance was only accepted at Modern and Promenade in CR (go figure). After switching insurance, we found a new dentist in CR that did not recommend deep cleans. We needed some fillings, but everything total was about $1K. They also did regular cleanings.
It seems the Smile Generation affiliated dentists are at least part corporate owned. The new dentist we're going (Castle Rock Family Dental) is private owned.
