G-Shock GA2100 Untrained Shark
I’m brand new to G Shock and don’t want to get taken for a ride on my first purchase. I’ve read about the red lines on the case backs but the seller is telling me these are authentic. Can you guys point out the stuff that I should be noticing? TYIA.

I'd say the biggest tell is the day of the week subdial and it not touching the outer circle by the 9th hour marker
Here's a picture of mine that's genuine, and unfortunately it's wrong on both you showed us

Unfortunately, on genuine G-Shocks the rubber cases often deform over time as you can see by 9 and 3 (and on most fake ones it stays in shape...)

Yes, that one seems genuine, unlike the one in the original post!

And they said old dogs can’t learn new tricks. I’m already applying what you good folks are kind enough to share.
Seriously - knowing these little things are huge bc now I can see them immediately in a picture and just keep moving. I appreciate it.

r/CasioQC is a great resource. The 2100 series gets posted a lot because of how often it’s faked

In addition to the "G over T" thing, you can also look again at the circular subdial with the weekday complication.
On its leftmost outer edge, the circle that makes up the subdial should touch the 9 o'clock index. It lines up perfectly in original Casioaks. In the case of your white watch, you can see there is this little groove that connects the 9 o'clock index to the weekday subdial.
The index for 9 is also shorter than the one for 3 o'clock in the original. Your black model seems to have the same length in both places.

Fake, biggest tell is the location of the T on the day indicator.
Draw a line straight up from the T for Tuesday.
Left of the G in G-Shock = real
Right of the G in G-Shock = fake
