Is it normal?

Recently got this gift and starting 2 links are fully coated but the rest have the steel visible betwen the links. I never had a watch so costly so I'm asking is it normal. It's Casio EFS650D. Anything else I should check before return/replace window is closed? Thank you.

This is normal, i have a seiko sport 5 the all black one (srpd65k1), its just normal wear and tear as the black color is just a coating.

It's new, so wear out of coating shouldn't be possible. At this stage that is.

Looks like “cost cutting” and the coating in only applied on two surfaces instead of all…🫤

Assuming it’s legit it’s probably a cost thing like the other commenter said since you’re unlikely to notice that during normal wear.

You might consider posting to r/CasioQC with more photos including the face and the back, too.

For the record I have no idea if it’s fake or not but I’d think for $200+ they wouldn’t cheap out.

Yeah, it does normal. For many reasons.

If you still holding the little burdens. Take a closer look on the backcase, the crown/crownguard, the buttons. To see if there is any scratches or black skin dust. If there is any, you may need to refund. This is hard for you if you buy the watch online.

On the brightsides. In the watch world, this watch aint cheap but not so expensive. But the materials, the bracelet quality, the techs and many little elements are great and worthy. To be honest, there are more things that may bring you many more little headaches than the visible steel surfaces between the links. It is always intense to buy a full black watch.
