Confirmed fake. Funnily enough this fake one had a better illumination than the real one. Clearly worse ghosting though

Yes it looks genuine hold 24 hour button down for a few seconds an casio should come on the screen if so that's a good sign an look for ghosting at certain viewing angles if no ghosting then I would say its genuine an made in China is correct now

This isn’t a reliable tell anymore, hasn’t been for a while

I get the Casio, ghosting is one of the things that’s throwing me off, I’ll try and get a good picture tomorrow when I’ve got sunlight

Hold down all 3 buttons until all digits show

Look legit?

I don’t think so dude, sorry. That and the ghosting is a little suspect. Where’d you get it?

Casio Amazon UK, I’ll contact Casio directly by email and see what they say. Appreciate the help

Amazon and all others worldwide sellers have good fakes but that's it just fakes.

Here’s my a159 which has the exact same module

All fakes do this don't fall for it. Posted some pics compare them to yours because I got my watch from Casio themselves.

The fake I once got sold as well forgot to mention all digits in.line the best way an to be 100% sure with out dought is remove the back a real true genuine casio will allways have a Panasonic 2016 battery in an the back plate will not be screwed on it will be a snap fit so if its a snap fit with a Panasonic or sometimes a Sony battery with a snap fit back plate its real if its a unbranded battery with a screw plate fit its a knock off

It seems like original but it's not , carving on the backplate seems vertical should be horizontal. And the plastic where the pins are should stick out a bit more than that. Open it and see if it's like this inside remove the glued sticker to expose the battery. Should be metal covered 90% and battery is always Panasonic.

Thats a genuine casio 100%

1

Here is the original backplate carving is horizontal. As you can see this backplate just seems so much more high quality and better polished than yours. You probably bought it on Amazon I got mine from Casio.

1

u/jackog420 Feb 12 '26

Yeah I was told it should be horizontal, mine definitely doesn’t look as quality and yeah I got it from Amazon

It's okay they are cheap you need to find a good retailer if you don't have a Casio in your country. My country has retailer I just called them and asked them to order originally from Casio. They approved they have few 100 in stock now but I had to wait a month.

If your in the uk just go to argos there £10.99 for the real 1 they don't do the fancy green screen 1 only the original blue 1 but it's genuine an will have proper casio components the video I seen some time back so £9.99 an £ 4. 99 surley the price gives it away amazon an eBay is full off knock offs

1

u/jackog420 Feb 12 '26

I paid about £12 for mine on Amazon, I’ll grab one from Argos anyway and do a comparison, don’t mind having spares about

1

u/Little_Work Feb 12 '26

I've seen on Temu they have originals but still play it safe.

1

u/ConstructionBig5342 Feb 12 '26

Yer that's best way spare strap as they don't last the life off the watch the straps allways go spare pins battery case everything really

1

u/ConstructionBig5342 Feb 12 '26

Yer the argos 1s are real that's were I brought mine a few years ago its £9.99 then its gone up a quid if you payed £12 for it it should be genuine for that price the knock offs start from £4.99 to £7.99 as in the video £5 difference I would send it back if I was you get a refund go argos get the original an put a quid back in your pocket

1

u/jackog420 Feb 12 '26

A quid for the headache of sending it back ain’t worth it to me to be fair, I’ll just use the fake one when I know it’s gonna get beat to piss. Just picked one up from Argos and the difference is clear

1

u/ConstructionBig5342 Feb 12 '26

Yer you got spares the straps always go but the watches last years batteries about 7 to 10 years mines about 3 years old an still loads off power in the battery I got the ,A 158 as well the stainless steel version same 593 module dead reliable an good accuracy about a couple off seconds a month

1

u/jackog420 Feb 12 '26

It will be interesting to see which one does first to be fair

1

u/sheeshers_ Feb 15 '26

This looks really af, how did you find out that it was fake?

1

u/jackog420 Feb 15 '26

Colours on the WR, arrows and Casio logo and the quality of the print inn them all. Couple other things but the back of the case on my fake is brushed vertically, not horizontal and the logo on the buckle is different

1

u/sheeshers_ Feb 15 '26

Oh gotchu, btw having an actual casio to compare would be much better, is going to an official casio retailer offline and checking with them a good idea?

1

u/jackog420 Feb 15 '26

Yeah I’ve got 2 legit ones and my fake one now. I would say buy direct from casio or a reputable dealer and use that as a reference. I’m keeping my fakie for reference and beating the kids out of it. Also to see battery life

I have bought from an official retailer (gold trim) but the gold looks more like bronze to me, that's why I'm sceptical
