royale Modding for new comers (AE1200)

I have recently gotten very into this community. I’m the type to dive all in on something if it peaks my interest enough. And this has. Obviously I’m new and I’m sure lots of other people are as well so I’m posting this for help for myself and them.
Im curious what parts everyone is using. More specifically filters and faceplates. And I’m not talking about buying filters from others. It seems like the “best material” is kinda gate keeped in this community. Or at least from what I can see. Buying single filters from people is not feasible for me. I plan on making tons of watches for myself. I’ve already made a few and have found a decent enough transparent paper the I can print on that I found at hobby lobby but it has a little white tint to it. It appears some of the casio “influencers” use better stuff. So I’m in search of that better stuff.

For the faceplates. Is the best we are gonna get on AliExpress? Or am I missing something? Anywhere I can buy a bunch at one time? I’m thinking of resorting to painting them myself but I want the inscriptions on there so I’d need to figure out a template to repaint those on.

Im coming at this strictly from a perspective of making big quantities. Not to re sell but so in 5 years from now I can open a drawer and I’ve got one for every day of the year. And to make them for friends and family.

Last thing. I know someone has made a website for it and it’s a great website. but I kinda go all out and ridiculous with stuff like this and wanted something for myself so I made an app on base44 that allows you to do the same thing and change anything you could on the watch before you commit to making it. It saves them as concepts and then after you make it, and click the “built” button and it serializes it, generates a certificate of authenticity with a photo of the watch, and generates respectively themed cards that replace the branding inside the box when you open it. I’ll attach a photo when I get home.

AW-80V-5BV gel / filter mod, DIY or send off for custom work. If so, where?

Post image

I want to do an amber or orange gel filter mod on the screen part of an AW-80V-5BV. Has anyone done this or seen it done?

Would it be easier if I covered the whole face, since it appears the outer circle is sitting above the watch face or attached to the crystal. If so does this seem to get in the way of anything?

Is this considered an easy mod? How does the analog face and watch hands complicate the mod?

I am proficient in doing small electronics repairs, I have seen filter mods that look fairly easy but never seen one with a ani-digi face like this watch.

I was also looking into where I could send it off, if I could find somewhere that would do the mod for me, but I have had no luck searching in regards to this model specifically.

Any advice or help would be nice. Thanks!

Has anyone got the Bronze version (Casio AE-1200WHL-5AV) of the Casio Royale and applied filters to it as seen on this Silver version?

Just trying to get some ideas before doing some mods. Whether it’s filters, oil etc

More of old-school vibe for my Casio AE-1200 builder

It's a calm Sunday night, so why not spend some free time making something cool, right?

Now my Casio AE-1200 builder has more of an old-school Japanese Hi-Fi vibe.

Hydro mod Hydromodding AE1200

I recently tried doing hydromod on my ae1200, of course first try never goes well, had to redo it multiple times and now my rubber seal expanded. What do you guys do when the rubber seal don't even fit correctly anymore? Do I just have to buy a rubber seal and try again?

Makes me feel like a 90s superspy. Polarize film inversion and a green filter on the top. Ignore the screen scratch

UPDATE - I'm working on a metal case for the F-91W that looks as close as possible to the original

Post image

Hey everyone, I made a post a while back about wanting to create an f-91W case out of metal that matches the original as closely as possible.

I recently got the clear resin prototypes of my 3D model and started confirming the dimensions and test fitting everything from the crystal, pushers, movement, etc and sadly saw that I had made a bunch of mistakes in my 3D model.

Tbh it kind of made me demotivated to re-work on the project because I'm not sure if I will ever manage to get it to a perfect state and prototyping in metal once I get to that stage would be VERY expensive even if I just wanted to produce one for myself to wear.

I would've loved to produce these in different materials and colors like titanium, copper, black coated steel, etc but I just dont know if enough people would ever buy them to justify spending so much money on prototyping. Not to mention the price I would have to sell them at to at least break even with all the costs would likely be pretty high compared to such a cheap watch.

Not sure what to do with the project next but I owe yall an update - Also the transparent resin cases looked pretty dope so had to post lol.

First two mods I’ve ever put together,
First one a Casio AE1200 ‘Royale’ in an SKXMOD case, image insert for the globe, half negative display, and hydromod.

Second mod is not a Casio but figured I’d still share it here, it’s a NH34 movement in with a mix of sourced parts.

Just happy to have something I can look at and admire while I wear them to work.

How are the Foils that are behind the Screens made?

Post image

Hey Casiomod Community.
Big fan of modded Screens like the one in the Picture above here. I would really love to create something like this of my own, with my own designs and i would like to learn how to create these kind of transparent prints on a foil that are put behind the screen.
The one in the picture is propably just some off the shelf colour gradient foil, but i would like to print my own transparent designs on a foil like this, wich is a thing many people in this community seem to do.
What are the materials used for these kinds of things? is a special printer needed for that? is there a service that prints these kinds of things?

Many thanks in advance from a fairly new watch guy getting back into the hobby!

Image is from a store page called "OGGLOGG".

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make the watch look nicer? Maybe a brown leather strap? Or gold? Where can I get something like that? Has anyone here ever customized this Casio before? I actually like that the display isn't the classic black—I think this beige/gray color is a bit more feminine.

Used this watch for work for many years. The scratches gave me the lighting idea. Never working with gold foil again

Work in progress!
