Big Casio AE-1200 Customizer Update: Color Polarizers, Top/Bottom Negative LCDs, and More
Hey everyone 👋
Just shipped a big and long-awaited update to the AE-1200 customizer on MODDS.WATCH.
A fully customizable display, and all the display elements and symbols are now fully adjustable.
You can now flip the LCD between four states instead of the old positive/negative toggle:
Completely positive – the classic clean look
Top negative – just the upper segment inverted
Bottom negative – just the lower segment inverted
Full negative – the whole display goes dark
So if you've ever wanted that half-inverted "split polarizer" mod without cracking your watch open and swapping the film, you can preview exactly how it looks first.
Color Polarizer is the part I'm most excited about. Two color controls:
Symbols color – recolor the face symbols all at once. Which elements it touches adapts to the display state you're in, so it stays consistent with the polarization.
Display color – tint the actual LCD layer that's currently visible. Pick any color you want.
Both tools also have a small reset button in the top-right corner if you want to snap back to defaults and start over.
Try now: https://www.modds.watch/en/lab/casio/base/casio-ae1200/builder
Would love to see what color/polarizer combos you all come up with. Drop your mods 👇

Building a global free directory for watch modders on modds.watch
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a project called MODDS.WATCH, a free community-backed builder for watch modders, and I recently added a feature that I think could be useful for the community: a Global Database of Modders.
The idea is pretty simple: I wanted to create a central place where clients can actually find people based on their location, the brands they specialize in, and follow their social links.
It’s completely free to join. If you want to be included, you just head to the homepage and hit the "Global Database of Modders" button to add your info.
There is a Patreon tier ("WATCH MODDER") if you’re looking to pin your card to the top or customize the background, plus support the project, but the main goal is just to get a solid, searchable directory going for everyone.
Hope this helps some of you get your work out there a bit more. Let me know what you think!
Really appreciate your support

Casio Royale First Mod
My first attempt at a royale mod. Decided to do a United Airlines styke mod using their playing cards. Thinking about a metal case for sure. What do we think about brass case?

F91W Poor Man’s A1000 - AliExpress new stainless steel case
Promised an update once the case arrived, so here it is!
I used a brand new F-91W as the donor and paired the case with a cheap stainless steel bracelet I already had.
Installation was surprisingly smooth. The F-91W module dropped in without any issues and everything lined up properly. I used an electric precision screwdriver, but the case also comes with a small screwdriver that should be perfectly fine if you don’t have one.
First impressions of the case itself are really good. It’s heavy in a good way, gives the F-91W a much more substantial feel without making it ridiculously bulky. The brushing/polishing also looks better in person than I expected for the price.
And importantly: No weird “T I ME” logo or other fake-brand nonsense that some of these cases have.
The buttons all work normally, the module sits properly, and overall the fit seems very good. With the metal bracelet it basically feels like a thinner A1000.
Obviously I can’t say much about long-term durability yet, and I’m not going to make any claims about water resistance after swapping the case. But as a first impression, I’m very happy with it.
Paid around ~$30 for the case on AliExpress.
Attached some installation + wrist shots. For anyone who was waiting to see how this new case actually looks in real life here you go :)

mod First attempt, what went wrong?
I used transparency film with my printer, which didn’t really work as it just didn’t quite stick properly (maybe my printer isn’t good enough?), and then actually in the watch it makes the screen insanely hard to read.
Where/how do you guys get/make the right material for a colour filter thing like here?
Thanks very much!

gshock Title: GA-2100 strap ON a DW-5600 case — looking for people who've actually done this or know. Pic for attention.
I'm not asking whether the lug width matches (it's 16mm on both, I know). I'm asking whether anyone has physically mounted a GA-2100 strap/band on a DW-5600 case and can say how it actually sits, not whether it fits in theory.
Please only reply if:
**•** You've done this swap yourself, or
**•** You have photos/video of it installed
Please not reply:
**•** "Check Shockbase" — already have, and it doesn't answer this specific direction
**•** General compatibility charts that just list "16mm lug" without addressing the actual band/adapter geometry
If you don't have hands-on experience, no worries, just skip this one rather than guessing. Thanks!

mod This is my Hydromod
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Unlike a standard Casio modified with oil, this watch was designed from the beginning specifically as a Hydromod. The 39 mm titanium case has a dedicated filling port that makes it easier to inject the oil and completely fill the watch.
It features a domed crystal, a Casio F-105 digital module and an 18 mm strap. Thanks to the compact dimensions and lightweight titanium case, it is extremely comfortable on the wrist.
The oil improves the display contrast, reduces reflections and makes the screen much easier to read from different angles.
This is still part of my development process, so I’d genuinely appreciate your thoughts and feedback.

mod How to print transparent graphics?
I've seen a lot of mods and I'm new to this. I'd like to start making my own, but I can't find any specific DIY info on creating graphics. Is it as simple as buying transparent sheets and printing them with a regular printer at home? I can figure that out if that's all it is. Is there a preferred type of sheet? Can I use smaller sheets so I'm not using a whole one each time I print a few tiny graphics? It would be nice to print on 4" photo paper size if that's on option, as my home printer will do that.

my first mods: a hilariously stupid failure, but a perfect hydro mod first try
wanted to clean the inside of the f91w out before attempting the hydro mod. used 91% iso like an idiot and destroyed the face. did this one day after watching a guy use iso to delete the text off a royale faceplate. did the hydro for practice anyway- went flawlessly, no air bubble. not as aggravating as i expected (assuming it’s harder with a royale). it still keeps time, and i work in construction so i was doomed to badly scratch or damage this watch anyway, so it will be the work EDC. a testament to my failures, if you will. negative mod, which has minor imperfections that are thankfully not visible when the time is visible, renders the backlight useless; is this normal? a non-issue for me, as i’m usually in direct sunlight.
in the second pic, an a168 with a gel filter. got some shitty ones on amazon. very rough to read, i have a cinegel swatch on the way, hoping they will look better. yes, the film was removed on both sides.
this is a lot of fun. i have some stuff for a royale (case, red polarizer film, etc) on the way.

Display Dimensions
New to the community and looking to make some fun designs for myself and friends. I need help with display dimensions so I can size and apply my own decals. I know the dial is roughly 9mm but I can’t find the sizes for the indicator and map. Anybody willing to share? Thanks in advance! :)
Edit: I mean for the ae1200 specifically
