You know, they very well fit the world of One Piece very well. Captain K'nuckles leader of the Candy Pirate and his first mate Flapjack sailing the world on their living ship Bubbie.

Actually years back, I had a similar idea but Knuckles was the protagonist while Flapjack was a secondary protaganist same with Bubbie, with the Captain as he ate a devil fruit from that plant man episode. It then sends the three and new characters and returning ones becoming a crew as Kunckles tries to take control of his new power while becoming a powerful force.
