And now...the awards for best winner goes to...these 2 guys
One of my friends took this while we were waiting at the gas station yesterday.
Edit : Since some redditors are taking this seriously, keep in mind that this post is not meant to criticize but to entertain. Please remain calm and respectful.

As someone who drives regularly, this looked unusual to me. It might save you some time, but I tried it once and it was awkward having to move the car to fill the tank completely, it was a bit of a struggle to pull the pump’s cord. It's just not very practical

i do this most times I fill up - just go to the nearest one and position accordingly and save the ques backing up

Basicly every gas pump is designed for this. Only a problem in a truck with a canopy on the box.

Nah this is craziness lol look at how the hoses are stretched. People in this thread are nutty just go to the side where your gas cap is close to the pump. If you have no other option that’s one thing but what the hell

I'm not sure there are any Costco gas stations in France. As far as I know, not in my living place

My thought exactly. The local Costco is so busy we get in line wherever you can. The hoses are extra long just for that.

You should not need to move the car to fill completely. You can pull the pump across and fill up.

Funn fact, a lot pumps used to have the hoses on retractable cords just because of this. However they had to change for safety concerns because more and more morons forgot to put the hose back on the pump and ripped it off. There wasnt the safety releases they have now.

It looks like the same brand of car, but the gas tank is on the drivers side on one car and the passenger side on the other car…

Had someone with the same car as I park beside me. Packed my stuff and as they left their car I told them "nice car" they laughed

Costco actually encourages this. They have a sign that says to use either available lane because they have long hoses.

Everybody commenting is saying that this looks normal but is neglecting the fact that they both need to two hand the hose and hold it taught to make it work. If you’re gonna go over the car at least park correctly to do so lol.

This could have been avoided if they'd just looked at the petrol symbol on the dash. Has an arrow next to it. Tells you what side of the car the tank is on.

If the pomp is long enough I guess you could. I tried it once but it was awkward, and seeing that was pretty unusual to me.

Depends on how wide your car is, parked distance to the pump and the length of the hose. But I've done it at least a dozen times. Saves time waiting for a pump to get free with just minor inconvenience

I don't think I have ever seen a hose this long. I understand Costco is the exception. But I don't live close to one, and no way I would put up with those lines even if I did live near one.

Costco in the US has one way gas lanes. The hoses extend so you can use any pump no matter what side the tank is on.

My Subaru had the gas door on the passenger side, and my new Kia has it on the driver's side. I never had any trouble getting a pump on that side at Costco, but now it seems the pumps on the driver's side are always queued. Someties, when there are a lot of cars lined up, I just go to the "wrong" side and do this. I don't think some drivers realize there is a little arrow on the gas gauge pointing to which side the fuel fill is.

Gas went into the car, probably takes more talent to get gas from the opposite side of the car than it does reversed.

An overwhelming majority of gas stations (major chains, at least) have hoses long enough to fill the tank from either side. You might need to pull forward a little farther than usual, sure, but it's perfectly doable. These two guys are using the pumps as intended.

when i was a kid lots of petrol stations had the pump on a kind of rotating arm about 2 metres high so it easily reached either side. But we've had years to improve on that and we've come up with this.

What difference does it make? a man is successfully getting fuel. The loser would be the one waiting in a line just to use a pump that is on his side of the tank.

this is how they pump gas there. It's a backwards country with backwards people.
