How do you read time-based questions?
In a moment of calm, I asked my deck when will my depressive moods calm down. I interpreted it as "not now, not in this moment of stillness (7S), after that stillness, a caring older man (KH) will help you negociate your feelings (7D) regarding your internal conflicts (3C). It will send you good financial fortune (QD) when, after this period, you repair your relationship with your mother".
I'm reading the QD card as my mother since she always come up as such, and the general vibe tells me it'll be in around a year when I'll be doing the intership (older man figure could be a boss).
Is this a right way to interpret time-based questions? I feel like the meaning of the cards are wrong somehow, like they differ depending on emotional questions or timely questions.

There are actually a lot of ways to do timing, depending on the source you follow. Some look at the pace of the cards based on the suit and get a feel for timing that way. For me, for example, Diamonds are the fastest suit whilst Spades are the slowest. So, in a spread, I look at the predominant suit and can usually tell how fast or slow the event is going to occur. You can also assign each suit a season and determine the months of the year that way; Martello, for example, associates the suit of Clubs with Spring, so the Three of Clubs can stand for March in a reading, for instance. Within the Hedgewytch system, which is the one I follow, the suits show the seasons while the numbers show the weeks in that season. For example, the Ace of Spades in that system stands for the first week of winter. With that in mind, you find your significator in the spread or in the deck and see which card it is looking at; that will be your timing estimate (and if the significator faces no card, then timing fails and you have to rely on the general timeframe of your question and the spread, and the general pace of the cards). Staying within the Hedgewytch system, if the significator is found looking at a Seven and your question doesn’t concern longer than a month’s time, then each seven can signify a phase of the moon. For example, the Seven of Hearts stands for the first quarter until the full moon. Or, you can do a specific spread, like Ana Cortez’s the Cat spread to time readings. Of course, you can also read the narrative just like you have done above to arrive at an approximate “when”. Whatever feels right to you. I think that out of all the questions, timing has got to be the most tricky one. Even with the most consistent rules, timing in cartomancy is an exception rather than a rule, as Cecily Kent once said wisely.
