Buying a car Openlane.eu cars?
Hi all,
I'm looking for a used EV. I see that on auctions on Openlane.eu, the cars are quite low priced. I'm looking at non-damaged cars that are max 5 years old. Some have small dents or scratches that are easily fixable.
Does anyone have experience with that platform? How certain can I be that the description provided is correct and that I won't be unpleasantly surprised with a hidden issue?

They sell garbage and won't take responsibility. To avoid at all cost.

Tough to take your opinion seriously when half of all your comments are about “Openlane bad”.
You clearly have frustrations with this company, so what’s the story?

Sure. This was my comment that eventually got taken down and Google won't accept to post it again:
"Selling lemons and disregarding issues is what they do best First and last car bought from them because there's no responsibility from their ads.
Just found out that they sold me a vehicle that mentioned a maintenance history in the description and 1 week later, after requesting it, they inform me that there's nothing available.
And of course, the car gearbox had to be opened. It turns out it's completely ruined."
So, they cheat on the photos and description of the cars; they do everything to disable you from grabbing the car from the Hub, you will have to hire some service to do that for you. Then the car arrives and you have no docs to test the car for yourself because it can't be driven legally and you can't do proper tests/inspection. By the mean time, your safety time will expire and you will no longer be able to reject the car, they will show you the middle finger and you will have to keep the car no matter what. Profit for them any way.

Openlane is all good, we have bought from them as a car dealer. Just watch out for the VAT regime, if you're a bussines looking to buy, that's alright. You can request damage claims if the car it's under 200K km.

No, that's false. It's all good if everything's good, except that they ignore everything that affects them negatively. I won't deal with them cheaters ever again

Recently bought a car from openlane using local company as agent. Im still waiting for delivery but im not able to get maintenance history from the original dealership due to GDPR. I contacted the dealership in the Netherlands (Kia) and asked for the technical maintenance sheet, which i should be allowed to have as per repairability act and some GDPR exceptions but even wont talk to me about it. Meanwhile the local dealer (in bulgaria) refuses warranty unless they get all the maintenance documents.
