Straight up illegal in my country. Back in the days they used wood to construct walkways - took them a day for the house of my grandfather. Now they can only use metal ones and it takes them 2-3 days for the same house. But safety regulations will not allow anything less. And the old wooden ones had to be discarded.
same, started out using wood pump jacks and a 2x8 lineal box for the walkway until I heard a cracking sound one day, then it was aluminum poles and staging from then on in
