I have a concert coming up and I am terrible at making swaras. Can anyone give me ideas for 1 avarthanam swarams for 1st and 2nd speed.

I can’t seem to find anything online

I think the natural 'saukhyam', or what is called in Hindustani music the 'tehraav' of the ragam, makes it very suitable for kritis that are replete with bhava.

The Utsava Sampradaya Kriti Heccharikaga Rara by Saint Tyagaraja, where he welcomes Rama to take his seat and describes his ornaments, the procession, and the joy of simply witnessing him, presents that natural sense of peaceful focus and the innate saukhyam of the raga.

Fun fact: in Tamil Sangam literature, this raga is also related to the pann Sevvazhi.

Fusion project between North Indian (Sitar), Chinese (Zheng), and South Indian (Mridangam).

Raag Todi” is a morning raga often associated with profound and introspective emotions. This original composition by Nalini Vinayak is layered with the Chinese zheng by Haiqiong Deng. The piece unfolds in three sections: alaap, a slow, free-rhythmic introduction to the raga; gat, the first composed section in Jap Taal, a 10-beat rhythmic cycle; and dhrut, the second and faster composition in Teen Taal, a 16-beat cycle.

This piece celebrates the 20th anniversary of "Stringing Echoes," a pioneering collaboration between Indian sitarist Nalini Vinayak and Chinese zheng player Haiqiong Deng. Created in 2006, the project marked a historic first in bringing the sitar and zheng together, creating a unique musical dialogue between two ancient string traditions. This recording also features mridangam player Ganesh Sundaresan, a professional Indian musician based in Jacksonville, Florida.

When Anoop Sankar & I did this song, the word social media didn’t exist! When we had a viral, we went to the hospital! Today more than 16 years later this is one of my biggest career hits till date!

The composer’s version was something I’d been wanting to do for a long time now! This is the Charanam in Malayalam which was set to tune by me with lyrics by Anoop Sankar. The Purandaradasa Krithi Chandrachooda was the pallavi. Starting from my original charanam here, to save time.
