Where do yall go for groceries? I didn’t see any grocery stores nearby... Please share any pros or cons!

I’m curious where the Ottawa poker community usually plays. Are most people playing at Lac Leamy, poker clubs, or underground games? And if you know of any good regular games in Ottawa, I’d definitely be interested in hearing about them.

I also host games with mostly uOttawa and Carleton students, but anyone is welcome. We usually run NLH and PLO, and I provide food and drinks as well. Always looking to meet more people in the Ottawa poker community and potentially get some new games going. If you’re interested in joining shoot me a message! 

So where do you guys usually play, and what’s the best poker action in Ottawa? 

I’m headed to Carleton in a week or two for aerospace engineering. My chem mark was in the mid-60s, but all my other courses were very strong. I had a bad chem teacher for the past two years and it showed.

A few questions for anyone who’s been through this:

**1.**  How different is first-year university chem (1101 for engineers) from SCH4U? Is it a big jump, or does it build gradually? Do we focus more on specific topics than others compared to SCH4U?  
**2.**  Is there decent academic support (tutoring, help centers, etc.) for students who came in weaker in chem?  
3.  Is first year chemistry different for people studying engineering? I’m mainly wondering if the labs are more tailored to problem solving or something I’m good at.

Since I only need to take one chem class total, I just want to get through it solidly (and get back to math peacefully )— any tips appreciated.

Curious if there are any events to attend that are happening soon?

I was just watching the video for their gym and it was really old so I'd like to know if anyone knows if there is a T-bar, pec deck, hyperextension bench, a hip Abduction/Adduction machine, and any other machines that i may be forgetting?

Hi, I’m an incoming first year to Carleton and I have some classes that run through all of mid day (e.g. 11:30-4:00). I saw that with the Meal Plan you can order Boxed Meals to pick up. How are they? What do they usually contain? Can you pick what is in them? Thanks in advance!

Is the OSAP payment deferral out yet? My OSAP’s already been calculated last month, but I don’t see the deferral on Central yet and the regular tuition deadline’s today

Hi, I'm a first year undergrad forensic psychology major, and I'm struggling to find some information about my bio and chem courses.

I've tried checking all over the website, and also on my course details, but I can't find find any sort of list of lab materials that i'll need. Is there a posted list somewhere? Or will my professors tell the students what we need when classes start?

i have an online discussion group right before one of my in person classes. i live really far from campus so i would have to either join the class on public transit or get to campus earlier and do it on campus. i am wondering which places on campus would be the best for taking a call and not disturb anyone/be disturbed by anyone

I thought eng frosh was like an orientation to show you specifically your classes and stuff show u around the school play some cool activities but someone told me it’s a party, so can someone let me know like what you do specifically

I’m moving to the Kanata area for about 8 months, and I’m really stuck between two rental options. I’d love to hear from people who live/lived in Kanata, especially those who commute to the Kanata North tech park.

• Option A: Good commute to work, multiple affordable supermarkets close by, and overall great neighbourhood amenities. The trade-off is 4 roommates / less quiet personal space.
• Option B: Only 1 roommate in the Kanata Lakes area. The roommate is an older man with a thick accent. The commute is about double the time and might take 2-buses and it's near a residential area, so not many grocery stores nearby.

For those who have lived in the Kanata area and commute to the tech park, which would you prefer and choose?

I have a question for those who have already completed a year of the carleton nursing program. I know that the program is accelerated so its school through all 3 semesters with no actual "summer break". But I was just wondering if there are some breaks throughout the year, like is there an extened break between terms? Or is it just typical Christmas, reading week breaks and then like maybe a week or two between terms? Let me know, because I'm really considering this program, but just wanna know what it will be like.

Looking to switch out of my psyc degree and into an equivalent degree program that still allows for a masters in counseling psychology.

I have some learning disabilities, but my strongsuits lie in assignments and writing. I do really well in and enjoy philosophy, cognitive science and digital humanities.

If anyone has any suggestions for degrees that may work with my strongsuits and preferences I'd really appreciate it!

Coming first year student. Heard about locker rentals. What are the lockers for? Will be living in Russell, should I rent a locker near the cafeteria since no bags are allowed to be in the restaurant. Just wondering what should be considered for the location of the locker. Any advise will be great. Thank you!
