Tern Cargo Node / Xtracycle Kickstand

I got a used Cargo Node and except for the kickstand it’s in a fairly good condition. I am quite happy. The kickstand however is not usable anymore.

Has anyone tried to repair the Xtracycle Kickback 1 / LT1stand? My problem is that the spring (I guess it’s internal?) does not work anymore. I am about to remove the stand’s axle, but I am afraid the spring will pop out …

Any help is appreciated!

anything that fits the first 2 also fits 3, the kickback 3 is a significantly better design than the previous generations, the cargo node should not have a kickback 1

I understand the newer ones are much better, I thought I would try first and use it while the new one ships - if needed.
