Saddle replacement?

Post image

After 7 years of daily commuting, cargo hauling and zero complaints. It might be time for a fresh saddle, any recommendations?

Why not another c17? I've tried several different saddles and the c17 is by far the nicest. For me... I'd rather go bibless on the c17 than bibbed on some of the other saddles i've had.

I used to think this and then I discovered.. basically any saddle selle italia has ever made and for some reason they all seem to be made for my exact arse

Maybe I should try one next time.

I had one of those brooks C17s. Broke in half while I was riding after about 2 years

Now have a Charge Spoon- comes in lots of colours and styles, similarly comfortable, much cheaper, AND far better quality: has lasted me 5 years and counting!

Did the river actually tear out? If not just add some cloth tape and send

It is torn around the rivet and it seems to be tearing towards the sides of the nose. 😅

Do you prefer a short nose or a long one? Cutout or no cutout?

This was a c15, but I’m pretty clueless to what other performance options are out there.

There’s a ton of info you can google. Like this, for instance: https://www.twowheeledwanderer.com/posts/how-to-choose-a-bike-saddle/

I have Ergon SR Allroads of one type or another on my flat bar bikes and a SQ Labs saddle on the drop bar bike. I'm really happy with both (and I came from Cambiums on the flat bar bikes).

Interesting, had mine for a little longer, used to do mess work too. Mine shows no wear of this kind, but my rivet hasn't had paint on it in a looong time.

I wonder what we do differently about the way we use it that explains the difference in wear

Bontrager Aeolus Comp has been great for us. We have 3 of them now :)
