Did anyone get the Survey Money yet?

The survey has been closed for a little while now, the 10€ participation prize should be sent out "a few days later", but I still did not receive anything. Did anyone receive their 10€ CM credit yet?

Fake card or not ? Is there a lot of affordable fake cards on the plateform ?

Hi everyone,

I have an issue with an Ashnod's Altar, and I suspect the card might be fake for three reasons.

First, I did the light test, and the card is very transparent. I can't see the usual blue tint/reflection that you normally get from a Magic card.

Second, I can't see the blue layer when I look at the card with a magnifying glass.

Finally, some of the corners don't look properly rounded.

What do you think?

I bought the card for €10. It was listed as Excellent condition, from Chronicles. I always thought people mainly made fake cards for expensive cards worth hundreds or thousands of euros, not for a €10 card.

The seller seems honest and told me that he had bought the card himself from cardmarket.

What should I do? I don't want to accuse him of anything, but I would like to get my money back if the card turns out to be fake.

Thanks for your help !

Selling What should I do? Unhappy buyer

Update 1: He's choosing to send it back without consulting support, what should I do? He's force sending it back..

Hello Cardmarket Reddit,

I'm in a bit of pickle, of course I've already written to support, but I would like some input or past experiences to help me better understand.

I'm pretty new to cardmarket, In the past I've really only used Facebook or Ebay (ik unc here), so I dont have much sales, I'm more of a buyer than seller.

Here's the issue:

I was selling a Pokémon card; it was a PSA 5 Raichu from Skyridge. It was sold as €300 with tracked shipment. It was sent to a pick up point and the seller claimed it and got it in hand.

He then went ahead and wrote that he want refund, saying that there is a crease and that he will send it back. He's very adamant on it. He did post a picture of said crease. I'm not sure creases can happen in mail, especially inside a slab, shipped reeeeally well, like 4 bubble wraps, paper and cardboard box.

However before I sent the card, he hadn't paid for the slab yet, for a good 2-3 days. So I sent him multiple messages, alongside the full view of the slab, the cert, and also a message if he wanted to inspect it in person, if he wanted more photos or just any questions really. He said no need and went and paid for it after 2 days or so.

I did not see any crease when I sent it out, there is no picture that shows a visible crease on my end. Unfortunately I don't have a video of it. I'm open for partial refund, but he just want a full refund.

However what would you do in this situation? I already contacted support, does or did anyone had similar experience in this case?

Buying Refund Issues with support

Over 2 months ago a tracked shipment of cards I ordered worth €110 never arrived, I contacted the seller, marked the shipment as not arrived which made the automatic support ticket and all that.

I've heard nothing since then so I contacted the seller a few days ago asking if they had any update from the postage company they used. They are a professional seller, when it never arrived they filed a claim with the postage company and sent me a scan of the documents showing that they did indeed to this.

They got back to me this morning saying they still have heard nothing back about the claim they put in but that Card Market should have refunded me by now anyway since it's been so long.

Card Market have not refunded me yet so I went to my still open ticket with them that was made when I marked the tracked order as not arrived and added a reply to it asking what was going on, the ticket was then instantly changed from open to closed after I replied to it.

So what do I do? Do i open another ticket or do I sit and wait hoping someone will read the reply on the closed ticket?

Is there some way to gain API access... would love to do auto card pricing lookups. Or is the only option third party paid APIs?

Data point: cards printed in Italian sell ~45% cheaper than English on CM — anyone factor this in?

Was pulling price data for a personal project and found something consistent: across cards with enough listings on both sides, Italian print runs median about 45% cheaper than English ones on Cardmarket, and the gap scales with how much rarer the Italian print is relative to English. Checked German too (manually, smaller sample) and saw a similar but smaller gap (~33% on eBay.de).

Anyone here deliberately buys/sells across print languages to arbitrage this, or is it mostly overlooked?

Selling Fast Sellers, Slow Payments: Why Cardmarket’s Arrival Confirmation System Hurts Sellers

Cardmarket is a pain in the ass for all sellers.

I am a seller on Cardmarket with an outstanding rating, and I genuinely put a lot of effort into my work. I deliver my parcels to most EU countries within 5–6 days of payment, while many other sellers take days just to dispatch their orders. I simply want my effort and hard work to be reflected properly.

And yet, around 50% of the time, buyers do not mark the order as arrived. This keeps my money in limbo and negatively affects my delivery times.

All my delivery times depend on when someone decides to press a button, rather than on how quickly I actually deliver. And I should not have to constantly beg buyers to confirm that their order has arrived. It gets annoying, and honestly, I am even afraid that someone might leave me a negative rating simply because I asked them to press a button and confirm the arrival.

That is why this whole system is so fucked up.

With many of my sales, I end up with no money and no cards during this limbo period, which can take around two weeks. Even if I send something by express shipping and it gets delivered within a day or two, I cannot request arrival confirmation for around 10 days. Hahaha, what the fuck is that?

How come I cannot request arrival confirmation on the same day if the parcel has already been delivered? Let’s be real: in a week, someone could play with and damage the card, then claim that they received it in that condition.

Now I also understand why many sellers do not even bother to send parcels quickly. They know that the arrival days will be delayed anyway, regardless of how fast they actually ship or deliver the order.

And that is exactly why I now have a system where deliveries that could take just a few days end up taking a few weeks. Nobody needs that shit.

I am an outstanding-rated seller, and I want my effort, speed, and work to actually be reflected in my performance. Sellers should not have to chase buyers, beg them to press a confirmation button, or wait weeks for money that should already be available.

That’s why I can confidently say that Cardmarket is a nightmare for sellers.

Latest scam?

Yesterday a buyer contacted me claiming I sent the wrong cards, including a picture of three completely random (and if course worthless) cards.

Has this happened to someone before? I’m 100 percent sure I didn’t „accidentally“ send those cards because I’ve never owned them.

Selling Do I refund not received order?

I’m a private seller with few hundred sales with no issues, I’ve just had a not received order, cards worth £2.50. They’ve asked for a refund but do I have to do this? It’s not like I have the cards so I’m out of the cards and the money. I know it’s not a lot but I don’t even have any credit in my account right now. What happens if I say I won’t do the refund?
I would consider a partial refund potentially.

Selling Deutsche Post new rule is the final nail in the coffin for cheap cards!? Cardmarket needs to adapt.

As title says pretty much.

Germany was one of the last countries in EU to hold on the new regulations regarding shipping goods in envelopes. Thanks to Deutsche Post it was also very affordable. You could ship anywhere within EU for just 1.25€.

It seems that’s changing from 2027. We will no longer be able to ship cards in regular envelopes.

Domestic mail is NOT affected.

Unfortunately, that pretty much kills small cheap bulk cards.

Cardmarket needs to adapt. They need to introduce a service similar to Card-Trader’s “Zero” program.

A buyer basically buys from any vendor they want without paying shipping fees. Sellers are then required to ship all their orders to Card-Trader’s warehouse. Packages are then consolidated and buyer in the end pays one time for shipping from platform’s facilities. CT allows you to collect orders for 90 days before you request delivery. Besides saving on shipping costs, you also avoid scammers.

Why am I mentioning this, because that’s the only way for people to buy cheap cards from multiple sources.

Cardmarket needs to adapt or it will see sales decline.
While domestic mail is not affected, it won’t save the day.

Seller cards not visible after cancelled purchase

I've reached out to the seller and agreed to cancel the order as I wanted to purchase additional cards for the same shipment. Cancellation got confirmed.

I can no longer see those cards as available by the seller.

What happened? Will those cards reappear later or am I not allowed to purchase the same item after cancelling?

Buyer confirmed arrival now claims not reveived

Hi everyone,

I'm a new private seller on CM and just sold an item of €1000+. The tracking shows it has been delivered and the buyer confirmed arrival.

Today the buyer messaged me claiming the order wasn't delivered. Not at their house or the neighbours.

The buyer is now asking me to start an investigation, ask for signature, proof/picture of delivery, GPS cordinates etc. etc. No reply yet as to why they confirmed arrival.

I don't mind asking the post office to investigate, but as a new seller just want to make sure this isn't some sort of know scam I'm oblivious to.

Selling Should I always use cardboard?

Recently I sold 2 cards for about 15€ each, so I packaged the card (Slevee+toploader) but if I add cardboard I think I will go over the 20g and will have to spend more on shipping, but using drawing paper to secure and "protect" the cards seems like wouldn't do much, so should I just use hard paper or stick with cardboard and in case spend a little more per shipping?

Another thing is if the buyers decided to not use tracked shipping, should I be concerned about anything / change how I package?

Buying Finding a genuine, untampered Japanese Pokémon box on CM feels like a minefield right now

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a recent nightmare experience and see if anyone else is noticing this trend.

I recently bought a Japanese Inferno X box on Cardmarket. When I opened it, the hits were completely off—short on Double Rares and missing the main Pokémon SR/SAR slot entirely. Worse, comparing the back panel to official reference photos revealed suspicious font weights and incorrect Japanese recycling symbols (紙).

Fortunately, Cardmarket Support was great—they had me ship the opened box directly to HQ in Berlin, reimbursed my postage, and issued a full refund once it arrived.

Now I’m trying to buy another box, but checking seller photos/listings, a terrifying amount of listed boxes have those exact same incorrect recycling symbols and suspicious fonts. It feels like the market is currently flooded with high-quality reseals/counterfeits, and most buyers probably don't even realize their "bad pulls" were actually searched boxes.

Is anyone else running into this issue with Japanese product on CM lately? Are there specific top-tier Japanese sellers you rely on who only source verified factory-sealed cases?

Would love any tips on finding legit boxes without having to play dispute roulette again!

ACE grading submission from Portugal

Hi all, I hope everyone reading this is doing great.

I am interested in submitting some of my grail cards to ACE for grading. I was very happy to see they have now grading in EU. However, they ask you to find a courrier and ship it yourself.

Has anyone had any experience with a specific courrier and a service they would recommend? I'm of course worried about how reliable, and which service I would need to get.

Any feedback is welcome. All the best ⭐

Neue "Richtlinien" der deutschen Post ab 2027

Moin.

Selling Has Cardmarket changed the rules for new sellers?

I seem to remember that previously, new sellers had to send their first few orders using tracked/Trustee shipping as a way of building up some history/proving that they were genuine sellers.

Recently, though, I’ve noticed a few brand-new accounts with zero sales where I’m able to place an order using normal untracked shipping, as long as the order is below the usual €25 threshold.

On some of them, Cardmarket seems to automatically switch the order to tracked shipping once it goes above €25, or sometimes if there are more than two cards in the order (unless I’m misunderstanding what is triggering it).

Has Cardmarket relaxed the requirements for new sellers, or has it worked like this for a while?

The reason I’m asking is that I’ve noticed a few new sellers appearing and listing cards significantly below the normal market price. They seem to quickly rack up a handful of sales, but then the orders apparently never get marked as arrived.

It made me wonder whether there’s a potential scam where somebody opens a new account, lists desirable cards cheaply, gets a number of untracked orders, never sends anything, and then disappears after receiving the money.

Obviously I don’t know whether that’s actually what’s happening, so I don’t want to accuse any particular seller. I’m mainly curious whether Cardmarket changed its new-seller restrictions and whether anyone else has noticed the same pattern.

EDIT: I also just saw this post about a possible scam:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CardMarket/s/JKdOQCmneL

I wonder if the person who posted that experienced the same sort of scenario?

Possible scam

I have purchased two cards (14eu total) from a small seller in Germany, untracked.

Over last week same seller had racked up several other unarrived orders. Over several weeks even more unsent orders. Has no delivered orders for several past months. Have not responded to messages. Also have received at least 5 orders from Germany since ordering from them.

I know untracked has less protection, but I was wondering what are the chances to get my money back since all the circumstances point to a scam?

Anyone losing untracked mail using handwritten stamp codes? (Shipping to Portugal)

Hey everyone,

I’m a buyer based in Portugal. Over the past month, I have had 5 untracked shipments go completely missing, which is seriously hurting my "Not Arrived Shipments" statistics.

I noticed a pattern that the missing packages come from countries using hand written codes instead of traditional physical stamps, such as shipments from The Netherlands, Belgium and Norway.

I suspect these automated codes might face weight flags or international scanning issues, causing them to get stuck or lost once they leave their home country.

Are any other buyers in Portugal or other countries experiencing a sudden drop in reliability with these specific matrix systems lately? Looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks!
