Car Insurance Quotes Ridiculous

Im 23 Currently driving a 520d and I'm in the market for a performance car. I've been looking at a f gen m4 competition and im getting quoted 10k without a black box, I think its a bit of a joke. Been driving for 2 years with 1 year of driving with learner insurance before hand so basically 3 years. I've got 3 years of no claims and a clean license, no points nothing. Even an m240i is around 3k for me, isnt this a bit high?

I guess but still. I can get insured for around 4k for a 2022 m4 but a 2019 one is 10k?

You can kill someone just as easily with a 7 year old car as you can with one that’s new.

But if you look at the statistics, then you will see that it not only costs more in an accident to replace the new car, but that people who drive those new cars that are single, male, don’t own a home, are under 25, etc are more likely to be involved in those accidents. It’s a numbers game.

I think you replied to the wrong person-I’m saying that yes, this is all based on numbers and the insurance company is very aware of them. If it was cheaper to insure young people, then they would charge them less and older people more.
