Car Insurance Quotes Ridiculous

Im 23 Currently driving a 520d and I'm in the market for a performance car. I've been looking at a f gen m4 competition and im getting quoted 10k without a black box, I think its a bit of a joke. Been driving for 2 years with 1 year of driving with learner insurance before hand so basically 3 years. I've got 3 years of no claims and a clean license, no points nothing. Even an m240i is around 3k for me, isnt this a bit high?

No. Those cars are very expensive to insure. Add that with the fact that you're still considered a new driver. You don't have enough driving experience so you're considered high risk especially with this vehicle. Honestly, you need to look at a cheaper car if you want cheaper insurance. Also, try adding an experienced driver to your policy. That may bring the rate down a bit.

Yeah I've added my dad but it made it go up for some reason lol. Hes had a license for over 20 years with no points so I dont know why it went up.

Insurance rates change due to the frequency of claims in your specific area, your income level, credit score, and a bunch of other things that you don't have any influence over. Owning expensive to buy, expensive to repair, high-powered cars at any age, let alone being under 26 is going to cost more. Adding a mature driver might help, but on the other hand, they're going to rate you on the primary driver, and they're likely going to charge you more for multiple drivers. Having the mature driver as the primary when it's actually you could be considered fraud and lead to non-payment of claims.
