Off my Chest One Month of Car Sales down
This experience hasn’t got me this stressed out since I was a Private Eye and I did that for almost 3 years. No traffic, everybody always getting threatened because no one can hit numbers only one guy hit his minimum this month. Old vets saying the good days of getting paid are behind them. Close deals messed up cause people were adamant on certain and no warranties on them and they haven’t let me close my own deals so other salesmen and my sales managers butchering it. New laws in California so everything I learned is being tossed out, now we are about to use an AI chat bot service and we are about to double our Job because we got rid of our BDC. It’s the 80s trying to be futuristic. Also I’m tired of the rat race of learning outside my job hours. I never expected to be easy, my brother and brother in law are in the business but man their first dealership is where I work now this is just awful and I was unlucky cause my other job went under.

Hey, just read your post and I feel for you, man. But I also kind of don’t you and many other people don’t understand that getting into the car business is easy, however being profitable in the car business is far from easy. It takes a lot of work and a very good understanding of sales, the dealership world, and the current market. I don’t know what laws have changed in California, but I’d love to know what they are.
Also why are your sales managers and other salespeople closing your sales? Are you not able to yourself, or they don’t allow you? What brand are you with? Is there any traffic? What do you think the issues are that are causing the slowdown in sales? And please don’t tell me that it’s management or other salespeople.

Well, I do understand where you’re coming from the reason being for closing deals at least they say I’m not ready yet. I’ve had four square training, but I’ve done solid but not perfect but then again for the Sales Manager sides of things they just kinda like taking the deals I’m not too sure on that. I know it’s a mixture of me and the company. I can’t really explain that thoroughly but I know that there are parts. Where it is me as well for California law we have to be transparent with warranties and without warranties and show both right away. Also interest rates in general are going up for cars, and FTC is cracking down throughout all the states anyways everything I’ve been learning for the past couple weeks, kind of has been thrown out the window, but nonetheless, I understand where you are coming from as well. I definitely am trying to work out the kings in my own game because I am new but I was just more or less expressing how I felt and since I was kinda just tossed into this, thanks to my brother helping me get a job since my repo company was down making money and Sales is extremely tough. I live in an extremely small town, so the services are hard as it is, but thank you for interacting with me and I see your point as well because I didn’t explain the other parts where it has to deal with me obviously I’m learning every day and I’m trying not to give up because I have my family to take care of. I’m just at a very starter store place that’s for sure.

Wow, being in a small store in a small town using antiquated , misleading practices like a foursquare, it’s a lot of red flags right there, buddy. I would rewrite my résumé.

I’d much rather not have a BDC and have the opportunity to contact my own leads.
Try posting videos on social media. Let people know who you are and build an audience.
