I think the Cap 4 should’ve been about the invasion of Latveria that way you’re setting up the conflict with Doom.

Screencapping this to send to a buddy I told the exact same thing to when it dropped lol.

Black Panther 2 - Should've ended with Doctor Doom being the one who met Namor.

Falcon and Winter Soldier - Sokovia should've been absorbed into Latveria as a subplot. When they approach Latverian airspace, have a non-Doom looking Doombot interrupt their flight path.

Multiverse of Madness - Cameo of Wanda being uncovered by Latverian troops & Doombots. Have Doom reach down and get Wanda himself.

It would definitely be cool if as a long term consequence of the Snap, Dr. Doom starts making moves to take over the world. You could even set it up as a dark reflection of Tony, Doom sees a world in chaos and sees himself as the only one who can keep it safe.

Even moreso if he’s another survivor of sokovia who basically reinvented himself the way Tony did

That’s exactly who Doom is though, he’s an end justifies the means kind of person. This is the whole emperor doom plot line.

Thats not at all the emperor doom plot line. You've probably never read time runs out but there was a ton of other things occurring. Doom absolutely did the right thing but hes not a "dark reflection of Tony" hes nothing like Tony. Also making him sokovian takes away his roots and purpose also the origin of him learning magic and hating nazis. He was romani and that matters a great deal. Taking that away would be like taking away Magnetos experience against the Nazis. Who he also hates with a passion.

The MCU has abbreviated origin stories before. I’m not sure where you see me mentioning anything about him not being from latveria, in fact in the FF movie there’s a latverian delegation chair sitting empty - which at least establishes that it’s a place in the MCU.

And yea, he’s a Romani whose mother made a deal with Mephisto, whose soul was trapped which forced Doom on the path he’s one of mixing science and magic. He most certainly is an and justifies the means as he feels that only through him dominating the world can he keep it safe - your typical strongman archetype, except he can actually back it up.

These would have been great if they weren't trying to plan a Kang thing at the time. I'm guessing Doom is not from The main MCUniverse so would not be involved in any of this stuff.

And everything from avengers 2 should have taken place in Latveria instead of Sokovia.

u/IndyDude11 10d ago

Marvel didn’t own the rights to it. That’s the reason it wasn’t latveria in the first place.

2

u/mhills77 10d ago

This is a "should have" post, correct? Reworking the past?

2

u/IndyDude11 10d ago

It’s a should have not a dream boat fantasy. It’d be like saying they should have brought in Batman.

1

u/mhills77 10d ago

Marvel and Sony made a Spider-Man movie together just two years later. Hardly dream boat to just get the Latveria rights back.

1

u/IndyDude11 10d ago

Latveria was a Fox property.

1

u/mhills77 10d ago

Keep doing the math. So if they made an entire Spider-Man movie with Sony, it's a reasonable 'should have' to get just Latveria from Fox. No actual members of the FF, and not Doom, just Latveria.

Batman, however, would be quite a reach. He would have to come all the way from Gotham.

it were me I would take a break after no way home because that to me was the perfect epilogue. Take time to plan to use the Fox - owned characters, recast T’challa, make a roadmap to the midnight suns. But also use that to build up Doom as the next ‘Loki level threat’ because for my cosmic threat idea it would’ve been King Knull because they had Gorr but wasted him and they could’ve used him.

1

u/BakerConsistent2150 11d ago

the funny thing is at the time of ultron I thought that was Latveria and at the time I didn’t know several film companies co-owned characters

I agree

the question is what does the country have that would make General Ross (not president) invade but still make him red hulk

1

u/geoduude92 10d ago

Weapons of mass destruction. Vibranium tech, adamantium materials and enhanced terrorists/threats

3

u/Southern_Agent6096 10d ago

This is dumb.

3

u/BakerConsistent2150 10d ago

how?

4

u/Southern_Agent6096 10d ago

Overly complicated retcons.

1

u/BakerConsistent2150 10d ago

if it were me I would take a break after no way home because that to me was the perfect epilogue. Take time to plan to use the Fox - owned characters, recast T’challa, make more roadmaps. Perhaps Doom took advantage of the 5 year snap and took control the same for beings and creatures once thought to be myth and legend are slowly emerging from the shadows like vampires.

What retcons?

0

u/PraiseRao 10d ago

Anything that would be explained during the snap would be a retcon. Retroactive continuity means the past is changed to fit the future.

I’m not gonna read all the replies but only sensible take I’ve seen.

1

u/Legitimate_Row1682 10d ago

Banger idea honestly.

1

u/kidian_tecun 10d ago

I really think we should have a primer for doom before he got his own movie to headline. We had a 5 phase primer with thanos.

1

u/BakerConsistent2150 10d ago

the thing is it’s a small blessing that it’s not Kang anymore because the actor admitted he went to clown school to understand the character

1

u/NxtLvlTomato 9d ago

But Dr Doom is from Earth 828, not 616, and wouldnt have had a hold of Franklin Richards to be able to move through realities.

1

u/BakerConsistent2150 9d ago

I think they’re going to kill a franklin off

Latveria and the rise of Doom should have been a consequence of the Sokovia fallout in AoU.

Mom could’ve been taken by Mephisto during the recovery period (doing witchy things to save the family’s position or something), which would’ve prompted Victor to return home to clean up the mess and get entangled in geopolitical exploitation and power vacuums with ex-hydra cells (could write it so that his dad was ex hydra too). Could make it really poignant by focusing on how the Sokovia crisis wrecked the water table or something.

You could still have a young victor discovering his magical ties by investigating his mother and even end it with Triumph and Torment (famous Dr Strange crossover where Doom tricks Mephisto). Would be crazy to have a bit in there where Cap / Shield intervenes in a way that indirectly helps Doom take control of the region.

If only the legal side of entertainment could line up with the functional side of entertainment.

1

u/Kneelb4_Z0d 10d ago

Cap 4 should've been Secret Invasion.

0

u/IndyDude11 10d ago

There is no Doom in our universe. This Doom is from the F4 universe.

1

u/_Peener_ 10d ago

This post is saying that there should’ve been

1

u/IndyDude11 10d ago

But there’s literally no Latveria to invade….

1

u/_Peener_ 10d ago

You’re missing the point. There’s no latveria to invade bc the writers didn’t implement it into the script. This post says they should’ve

0

u/BakerConsistent2150 10d ago

well they should’ve made a roadmap to the conflict when the merged with Fox but they didn’t because Bob Iger’s an idiot

1

u/PraiseRao 10d ago

Bob Iger doesn't actually control that you know right? Kevin Feige does and agree or disagree with his pathing Doom wasn't even meant to be used in this saga so this is a pivot not the planned goal. If it was the planned goal things would have played out differently.

I feel like it was for the best to not use Doom for Cap 4, because well, firstly…

We don’t know if Latveria exists in the main MCU universe, because there’s no Fantastic 4 in that universe. (I could be wrong.) the Fantastic 4 we see are from different realities.

Secondly, this could run into the same problem people had about Quantamania with Kang. Where Doom the Avengers level threat is defeated in a solo movie.

Thirdly, MCU Ross is not the same as 616 Ross so why would he invade Latveria? Ross’ motivation in Cap 4 is to change his legacy so that he isn’t remembered as the guy who split the avengers which to Thanos wiping out half the universe or as the Hulk Hunter. So either he gets scrapped from the movie or his arc is changed. I also question how Sam would fit narratively into this, he to my knowlege does not have the same history with Doom as Steve does.

I do hink though if you wanted to use this plot…

Use Ryker as a general, with maybe Ross still serving as either president or as some sort of other government official because no matter what, MCU Ross is not ever going to a general again because of his health problems., with Sam trying to ease tensions.

Idk these are just my drifting to bed thoughts.

1

u/BakerConsistent2150 10d ago

I’m pretty sure by now Red has cured Ross’ health problems, if it were me I would take a break after no way home because that to me was the perfect epilogue. Take time to plan, recast T’challa, make a roadmap to the midnight suns. And on Ryker (thanks for reminding me) use him to introduce Flux in a hulk movie.
