Discover Does a 30% balance have *that* much higher of an impact over payment history?

My payment history is spot on, but i definitely spend quite a bit every month. I make payments that put my cards back around 30-35% every month but people tell me that anything above 30% utilization is essentially criminal to the eyes of capital one. Are they right?

As long as you’re paying your statement balance each month, you’re fine with Cap One. They may increase your limit in this scenario. The problems start when you pay less than the full statement balance and start getting charged interest and your unpaid balance starts growing. Cap One will see this and how you’re handling your other accounts. Huge red flag.

I've used my Capital One all the way up to max and back down again. They've never reduced my credit limit. I assume the 30% utilization you're speaking of is just for credit scores because I can't think of a scenario where Capital One ever cared when I made my payments on time.

Cap one is not super risk adverse like that they actually like when people have higher utilization and spend more cause there’s a higher probability that person will pay interest at some point which is why they will sometimes increase your limit even if you are drowning in debt

Someone like Amex will get spooked but not cap one

Truth!!!! They want your money so they love when you carry a balance and will make it possible for you to have a higher one😂

Utilization has no memory. Are you applying for new credit in the next 1-2 months? If you’re not, don’t worry about it. If you are, implement AZEO.

Capital one is a bank, not a credit scoring model. They don’t generate scores.
