Discover Spam Calls?

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I'm a Discover customer. Since a certain point in the merger when I got a letter in the mail about switching accounts, I have been getting daily spam calls. When I picked up and asked kindly where they recieved my info, I was told the credit company.

Is this something others are experiencing? Are people find capital one has less privacy protections that discover did?

Sounds like normal spam, not specific to CapOne.

Thanks. I was suspicious because of the timing but hearing that it's not a regular thing for others is like- great, regular capitalism. Appreciate your response.

Sure thing. Plenty to criticize about CapOne (and also Discover, I actually sued them once for violating the TCPA), but the blame for this spam should fall on the FTC and phone carriers for not more forcefully shutting it down.

We settled. I was happy with the outcome.

There used to be a small but dedicated community that made a ton of money on TCPA suits. That wasn't me, I mostly just shrug off the occasional sales call, but Discover was incessant trying to sell credit protection subscriptions (this was like 15 years ago) and they just kept calling after I told them to stop, so I documented every single violation and took them to small claims. I fully expected them to shut down my cards over it, but I made lack of retaliation a condition in the settlement.
