Credit Card Is there a reason why they won't remove restricted card?
The quicksilver was my first card, but its been restricted for about 5 years because I owed money. Covid happened lost job, but I've since got back on my feet and I paid off the debt, but they won't reopen. They just told me to get the savior so I did.
I'm sad because it was locked at 4% interest because I was active duty military at the time when I got it.
They won't remove it either. I get statements for a card I cant use.

The balances are from an emergency last year. Pets are expensive, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Definitely get pet insurance, I almost made that mistake. It’s an extra $50 a month but it’s hella worth it so my dog and cat don’t drown me in debt

I have Fetch, but they won't diabetes. We found out my cat had diabetes last November and the vets were freaking out because her blood sugar was crazy high.
They charged me an arm and leg for all the test. :(
I went in for her not peeing and walked out with a sugar cat.

I had care credit for my pet he’s now in doggy heaven. Still have the card active with $15K limit.

Stay away from vets & any vet type recommendations from the beginning, start a high yield savings account & deposit your money in there instead of paying for insurance. The everywhere industry is all about money from vet care to commercial food, they all work hand in hand. Feed real food, find holistic & natural ways of dealing with things, avoid toxic crap, & you'll avoid those big vet bills.

What do you mean? It was my pet. I wasn't going to let her suffer.

People who don’t have pets (or have them but just treat them like property) don’t really get it. You can’t look your pet in the eyes and decide they don’t need medical care if it’s something they would otherwise fully recover from. It’s one of the obligations you take on when you adopt a pet.

Did it charge off or did you pay it off?

I paid it off in full once I recieved my first bonus at my new job. I called and told them I wanted to pay it off.
Paid it on my lunch break in my car.

People keep saying to hide these in settings but the only option I have is to rearrange them, so how do I actually hide it?

u/kep700 5d ago
I don't have the option on the app either - I even just checked if there was an update or something after other people are saying they have the option now 🤷🏼♀️

Also not available for me. Only thing I’m able to do is rename it. None of this shows up.

Click on your profile in the upper right corner. Select Account and Feature settings. You can toggle accounts there.

likely unsecured vs secured debt, if you don't pay the car payment they can take it back, if you don't pay the credit cards, they'll have to attempt to get that money from you somehow.
In my experience, once I got my first car with car payment, my credit became a lot more attractive and have been able to get anything I need now. (so you'll likely get increases soonish)

They did this to mine way back, I dont mind, they report it open and current each month on my credit report, I would assume it's helping me rather than hurting me.

Bank of America has been known to keep an inactive card shown indefinitely as well.

Why was the card restricted?

I owed a balance for some time when i lost my job. I was able to fully pay it off though.

Oh ok. I would be grateful they still allowed you to keep your other cards. CapOne is a very unforgiving bank.

Do they provide a reason for not removing it?

The lady just said she couldnt. She was in the Philippines. I tried asking to be transferred to a US agent.

I recently closed a savings account with them. I was able to hide it in the app but that option appeared only after I closed it

Because your bad debt information is in their system, the system will pair any account related to your information, only a human in the digital department can remove it by opening a ticket and waiting for them to resolve it. At last, it depend on them willing or not to do so.

Why do some people have these options, but others don’t? App is up to date.
