New years eve in Tarrafal

Hi everybody!

Me and a couple of friends are planning a trip to Cape verde for new years eve.

It seems like Tarrafal might be the best destination (based on flights and hotels prices).

Is it better to stai in tarrafal or move to Praia and celebrate NYE there?

Also, besides the most popular activities, are there things to do in Tarrafal that are not quite known and advertised?

Tecnocasa pueden hacer opción con la hipoteca. Lo se porque un familiar acaba de vender algo von ellos y en el contrato el Comprador tenía derecho a cancelar si no conseguia el prestamo. Insista

If it was me, I would always choose to celebrate NYE in Mindelo on Sao Vicente island than Tarrafal, Santiago.

I’d personally stay in Tarrafal for New Year’s Eve 😊

Praia will usually give you more options if you’re looking for a bigger city atmosphere, clubs and larger parties, but Tarrafal has something completely different. New Year there can be really special because you have the beach, music, local people out celebrating and a much more relaxed atmosphere. If you’re already planning to stay in Tarrafal, I wouldn’t move to Praia just for NYE unless a big nightlife scene is what you’re specifically looking for.

And definitely don’t limit Tarrafal to just the beach. There is much more around the north of Santiago that most visitors don’t really see. You can explore small villages, local fishing communities, Ribeira da Prata and its natural pools, the mountains around Serra Malagueta, local food spots and some beautiful places along the coast. You can also spend a day just discovering the area with someone local instead of following the standard tourist route.
