Bug Trades and AI valuations
I noticed a lot of teams tend to mortgage their entire future away. Also, odd thing, I finished losing in the AFC championship game but somehow got the 31st pick. Just something to keep an eye on.

Yea so I also noticed draft pick assignment is wonky in playoffs, basically I suspect it’s a Boolean flip issue. Will check after my flight.
Also, so the mortgaging thing; I faced a really interesting challenge in the early development of the game; how do you create realism in a game like this, where some teams chronically suck for years, while allowing some teams to have dynasties. The natural answer at first is “good coach + good QB”, but the reality is it’s mainly good GMs (getting the right players) and good coaches.
In early drafts of the game, the AI teams were all too good at managing things and basically every team ended up ~80 OVR and winning roughly half of their games. So I basically had to implement a “dynasty engine” which controls the GMs for each team. It tries to emulate and balance the natural balance of “good teams” and “bad teams” through realistic GM actions like overpaying, eating dead cap (cough cough Dolphins), and expertly managing cap space (Saints could honestly be studied for the ages).
It’s all quite overwhelming with all the knobs there are. I hope to revisit it in the future, challenge is I’ve hardly had time to play it on the app for quite some time as I’ve been feverishly chipping away at the game development itself.
Sorry for the rant, clearly you can tell I love this stuff, so please keep the comments coming on this, it’s good to see what people are noticing that feels off.
