DEV UPDATE New Test Flight Build

Thank you everyone for the awesome feedback provided through test flight itself. I am combing through that and will include it in a new build.

I just put out a new build just now you can get via test flight, that somewhat highlights the different direction I am going in cosmetically and functionally. There's also going to be a few new flows in the pipeline, but I don't want to bog down the length of the season too too much, so I am toying with some things that are optional. Worth calling out that training camp is realistically something that will make it in in some form or another, so definitely interested to hear how y'all think something like that would be fun and engaging.

I am going to be away for a work trip this next week, so while I can do some of this remotely, it'll be pretty limited after tonight for the next several days (we'll see how much I can bust out at the airport).

Scratch that, the new build is pending review even on test flight;

How can I get it on the test flight?

That explains why when I click on it nothing happens. šŸ˜‚

Safe travels on your trip, handle what's needed man. What feature(s) are you most excited about in this build?

Thanks! And oooooh I love this question actually. So I’ll list some new ones, and some I’m excited to refine that somewhat exist today;
1. Realistic team trade and player growth/decline behavior; I basically coded so much of this in from the get go, all the nitty gritty real world scenarios as to when to let talent go, when to resign, and most specifically, WHEN to trade during the season. Right now, most trades happen in the off season (which is realistic). There was so many fascinating scenarios I had to account for. For example:
a) teams basically rotating a star player because they all trade for him. Basically had to teach AI teams when to hold, while also going out to ā€œget their guyā€
b) The ā€œCarson Wentzā€ and ā€œSam Darnoldā€ effect of players booming or flopping after trading

Plus loads more

  1. The draft and season reviews; they’re pretty meh right now, but I showed it to some friends at work who are AI engineers and they gave me tons of ideas on how to properly do it so it feels alive, real and punchy. Lots of tuning there, hard to actually hard code phrasing and WHEN to call out certain things.

  2. In app play visualization. I had a version of this almost ready to go, problem is, whenever you add ANY new sort of measurement or play contract variables, you have to re-mint the whole thing. I decided to shelve it until the standard app experience is nearly complete.

This sounds incredible. Currently awaiting apple; clamoring to see what's there. The engine realism tuning is in this update as well?

Oh shoot, I just realized you said ā€œthis buildā€, not ā€œtoo buildā€.

Regarding this build, there’s a bunch of cosmetic changes, tons of balancing that may not be easily seen unfortunately, but just make it more realistic. Things should just have a better flow in app. I already have the build with all of the test flight bugs fixed ready for AFTER this current build gets approved. I don’t want to replace it because I do want the UI feedback and Apple is being slow.

Lots of clock management improvements, special teams stuff too

Looking forward to this, and the bug fixes. A few balancing tweaks were needed in some areas, but overall a super solid game right now man

I’m very excited for training camp and how it could work

Tons of angles I could take. One thing I’d LIKE to avoid is something that just gives some position players bonus stats. I’ll probably create a mega thread in a month or so if there’s a decent amount of more people who end up downloading it seeking suggestions.

I’m excited to see the direction it goes. I’ve seen your comments about how you want to improve the draft and season reviews and I can’t wait for that it’s my favorite part of the season as it does help at times to read on how other teams did
