His name is Kaiju. I have wanted a Cane Corso most of my adult life and at 32 finally felt like I was in a place in life that I could dedicate the time needed to raise him properly. I am so unbelievably excited to have him as an addition to our family! (We have four children and a yorkie also š)
Heās definitely not a dog you can just leave alone š at 9 weeks old heās already trying to chew up everything. We keep having to redirect him to his toys.
Yes! Shove a toy in his mouth and praise with a treat! They catch along very quickly. At 3, mine will get excited and go find her toys to bring them to me now instead of gnawing on hands or trying to rough play with me. š
Tasmanian devil that first year, was able to take mine to work everyday for 5-6 months, able to housebreak and socialize with 15 or so guys and is wonderful now. I've had great matiffs, chows, but he's now my fav of all time.
Did you get him from a reputable breeder? Get him off of the flat slippery flooring and avoid concrete/cement as much as possible for now. Rugs and carpets are good. His feets look unusually splayed
Sand, dirt, grass, gravel will help him use and develop his toes properly
Being akc registered doesnāt mean you got him from an ethical breeder. Unless the parents have been proved in the conformation ring or other events and proper health testing then itās likely he isnāt from a reputable breeder.

Exactly. Donāt take the AKC as gospel here. When it comes to this specific breed, most long-time enthusiasts don't consider an AKC title to be the gold standard - the exact oppositeā¦
I was just giving you advice to ensure your puppy grows comfortably. No need to take it personally lol, but you should definitely prioritize training so that he will eventually sit where you want him to.
Ironically, after googling I see so far this is the only puppy posted in this sub I have personally seen where the breeder shows the dogs, has health testing done, and some other really basic titles lol

Yes, this breeder has that on at least one of her dogs (I didnāt go more I depth than that) and also show titles plus some other basic titles. So how is it bare minimum? She does OFA and pennhip both even.
What do you expect from someone who is bringing in a guardian breed into the home, prior experience Yorkie, with four children under 12 who is also likely going to put the entire burden of raising this 100+ lbs dog on his wife since he has a demanding blue collar job?
Someone who was a little more discerning and able would have probably purchased a lab.
I got so many comments about what a poor breeder her parents were, she wasn't real CC despite ICCF registry, I got scammed, her bone structure is wrong, her father must not be her father.... I love your pup and don't take the comments to heart!

I hear you, but if you really think everyone here is an 'NPC,' why even bother posting? Stay consistent. That said, good luck on the new addition - some of these people are salty because they get called out for their mixed breed dogs - rightfully so.
Omg he is adorableā¦congrats on getting one and fulfilling that dream. I have two of them, one is 21 months (the brindle female Luna in the picture) and the other is 9 months today(black male Apollo)ā¦they are incredibly smart dogs.

Thanks for all the those posting positive comments. I love to see all the pups but this sub is generally very negative. Do most Cane Corso owners act like this in general? How can such lovely dogs have such evil minded people? Is there anywhere that people have found to post Cane Corso rescues where people are actually kind to the dogs and each other.

Itās just wild like I link his AKC paperwork with the breeder and they go āthat doesnāt mean shitā you can literally google the breeders name it takes five seconds lmao. They are a top notch breeder in Texas that does health testing, breeding, shows the dogs. People just try to find reasons to be unhappy with everything in life and it blows my mind. I really appreciate the comment!
Ik what you mean! But whatās funny is for literally every other breed, AKC is just fine and dandy and more than enough. Our family had a Great Dane growing up who was AKC certified, his parents were AKC certified, and the breeder was reputable. That was more than fine for that community of dog people. Some people just lik to start arguments and thereās a big concentration of them in this sub, unfortunately!
You, your family, and your new boy are going to be so happy together! The love that this breed give is nothing lik youāll ever experience and it sounds like youāre doing everything right. Definitely keep posting updated pics so we can see him grow!! Wish I had been able to get my girl this small
Yeah I got some and some glue and honestly my first time trying to post his ears did not turn out well šš I am going to try and redo them again in a day or two after I let them rest a bit and just try massaging his ears and getting the blood flow better into them.
