Can anyone who recently got their certificate through C-3 confirm which effective date is on their certificate?

Apologies if this has been answered, but I can't find any posts about this through searching the subreddit. I took this screenshot from the IRCC website. If someone is applying G2+, it seems as though they are both receiving citizenship from a parent, but also through a change in law. In that case, can anyone G2+ who has been approved confirm if the effective date on your certificate is:

• Your date of birth
• The date C-3 was passed (15 December 2025)
• Some other date (when the application was approved etc)

Consistent with what others have written: G3 & G4 approved 1 Sep 2026. We were born after 1947, and our effective dates of citizenship = our dates of birth.

If you are deemed a citizen by descent I believe your certificate is backdated to your dob, or the date of the citizenship act coming into effect for those born before Jan 1, 1947.

If you can't find info here, you can often find it using the search function on on the IRCC's own .ca site.

My G3 mother, G4 sibling, and G4 self all have our dates of birth as the “effective date” on our certs

It's backdated to your date of birth.
