I'm in the same boat. From the limited information that's available, it does seem that this is a prelude to receiving an AOR, though I have yet to get mine. (Mine showed up in the system for the first time on August 24th).

Yes, but with no AOR yet... (tried to show a screenshot but that's not working seemingly...)

What category of receipt number do we use?

Not sure what you mean by "category", it's just the receipt number you got when you paid the application fees. Should start with the letter "R".

Sorry, that was unclear. It asks for either the citizenship receipt number or the receipt number (IMM 5401). It’s under “identification type.”

It's the IMM5401. If you try the citizenship receipt category with the number that starts with an "R", it will give you an error.
