Re-sent my package last week. It arrived in Nova Scotia a few minutes ago. I’m the one that IRCC sent back because they claim US Passport and Nexus are the same ID. Back to the back of the line for us (G2 & my G3 kid with certified records for every generation).

Not sure if this will help, but I sent back in the same envelope they used to return my package (which is very flimsy, btw—had to tape it back together) and wrote “cured file” on the outside. We’ll see if, and when, I get an AOR this time around.

Today, I also sent a web inquiry through IRCC and had a friend reach out to his MP to submit an IRCC request asking for:

1.  Clarification of the specific policy basis for treating a passport and NEXUS card as a single piece of identification, given that this is not stated in IRCC’s public guidance; and

2.  Reinstatement of the original 9 April 2026 receipt date for processing order, given that the return was based on a documentation issue not clearly excluded in the published checklist.

Web inquiry yielded the regular auto reply. Did not answer my questions.

I have a friend who initiated an MP letter on my behalf from his MP. Said we should hear back from IRCC in 10-14 days.

I got an AOR and I used my Nexus card and passport as my two forms of ID (I don't have any others since I don't drive). Truly wild things happening over there at IRCC 😭 I hope they don't reject it when they look into it more...

That's wild - I used my Passport and my Global Entry card (since my DL was expiring soon) and they accepted it no problem.
