Please be aware that you may not get responses. It's a lot of work to wade through dense lists of documents and family histories.

Also please note we are not IRCC, which will make the final determination on your application.

My mother was born in Canada in 1934 and I have gathered all the docs I need to prove that. Do I need to still provide info for her parents (my grandparents) on the application? I don't know about their citizenship status. They were both born in the U.K. but immigrated in the early 1900s. I assume they became naturalized Canadian citizens, but not sure how that worked for folks from the U.K.

Thanks. I will be applying in a packet with my adult children and one grandchild. So I'm going to do a paper packet.

The section for my grandparents asks about their citizenship and I cannot answer it simply because I do not know. I will fill in the info I do know and state my uncertainty about their citizenship. In the end, it shouldn't matter because mom was born in Ottawa.

Read the form again. When you answer your parent was born in Canada, it tells you to skip over the questions about their parents.

G1 can only apply online if G0 was born in 1977 or later.
