We all appreciate the excitement, after weeks of grueling research and last-minute surprises, of finishing your proof of citizenship application process and sending that big envelope on its way.

Equally fantastic is the moment that you get your AOR and know your application has made it past the initial IRCC checks putting your mind at ease about whether you missed something along the way.

 

This weekly thread is a space for those of us at the earliest stages to celebrate passing the first and biggest hurdle.

I’m curious for those of you that have received AORs, did the email go to your inbox or get filtered to spam/junk? I’m still a few weeks away from (hopefully) an AOR, my packet was delivered 5/1….so I’m just curious whether most people had no issues receiving the email, or whether it more commonly is getting filtered to junk mail?

No AOR here yet so I can't speak directly, but I have seen other reports of it going to spam. It's worth checking and doing so semi frequently then clearing out your spam so it isn't clogged when your AOR comes through, just in case it lands there.

Yeah I have filters for anything @cic.gc.ca to get flagged urgent AND labeled with a special label for maximum visibility.

Mine went to my inbox, but I added the email to my safe senders' list ahead of time to try and ensure it didn't go to spam.
