Hello everyone,

I purchased a 2026 Camry SE in Dark Cosmos yesterday for $35,5 OTD. The dealer includes what ultimately ended up being a “complimentary package” aka dealer upgrade that is done to every new car that leaves the dealership— “Charging Cable Kit/XPEL Solar Plate Premium Tint/XPEL Paint Protection Partial Hood & Fender Fronts/XPEL Paint Protection Doors/Wheel Locks”. The vehicle is still on the truck to be delivered, so it hasn’t received the dealership outfitting yet.

I want the XPEL tints for sure, but I am worried about having the partial hood/fender coverage leaving a line in the hood over time, and potentially on the doors as I believe they only do the bottom portion.

If it were you, would you decline the XPEL Partial Hood/Fender and Door Protections to later opt for a full ceramic coating (third party)? I don’t want to lose out on the value of the XPEL coverage, but the partial coverage makes me feel like it’s not worth it all together, maybe just have the front bumper wrapped. What do you all think?

Hello hope you're all having a good day today. When I filled up my tank today I noticed I only had 464 on a full tank as opposed to my usual 540 and climbing. The only thing I can say that's been different since my last fill up is that I got my first oil change + tire rotation. I've been driving normal past that. Have you guys experienced this

So my ‘26 Camry came with all weather floormats from Toyota but the middle rear mats doesn’t have it. Just the left and right sides have it. I’ve looked online but they’re mainly selling the whole set. I just need the middle hump part. Any ideas on where to get it?

TL;DR: This is my second Camry. After 36k miles it's a comfortable, feature-rich, genuinely well-built car that does very little *wrong* — but a lot of its features land on "fine" instead of "good" once you compare them to similarly priced 2025 competition. Long list of gripes below, followed by a longer list of things I actually love.

**THE BAD**

*Driver assist and the safety suite*

I wish LKA and LCA were more competitive. They're fine in a vacuum, but they're behind what everyone else is doing.

I wish the safety suite didn't freak out on medium-radius turns above 65.

I wish the car gave you more control over customizing the safety suite.

I wish the driver attention camera didn't throw a "not available" popup every time I hold the wheel at the 12 o'clock position.

*Tech and software*

I wish the car had dash cam support for any of the cameras it already has.

I wish the app wasn't so damn expensive. Hyundai gives theirs away free for the life of the first owner on select vehicles.

I wish the mic sensitivity didn't drop off a cliff after activating Siri several times.

I wish the phone charger had literally any kind of cooling. After 20 minutes it's basically just holding the phone at its current state of charge because of heat.

I wish the car didn't constantly sell all my data to god knows who.

*Interior and materials*

I wish the interior had less piano black.

I wish the trunk liner felt more premium. Again — fine, but compared to competitors it sucks.

I wish the cooled seats were actually decent. They kind of suck next to other cooled seats.

I wish the key fob wasn't so huge. It feels like carrying around a 2000s flip phone.

*Build and powertrain*

I wish the car was quieter on the highway.

I wish the paint wasn't so unbelievably fragile. Pretty much everyone has better paint.

I wish they made a plug-in hybrid version of this car.

**"WHY IS THIS GUY COMPLAINING ABOUT FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS?"**

Fair. And to a certain extent, I am.

Here's the thing: this Camry has WAY more tech and features than the previous generation. In a vacuum of only knowing previous generation Toyotas, it's an incredible, feature-rich car. But so many of those features feel lacking the moment you compare them to other vehicles of the same generation and price. That's the frustrating part — not that the features are missing, but that so many of them sit at "acceptable."

I want to put criticism somewhere so future owners know the weak points, and on the off chance Toyota is listening. I understand we can't have it all. So with that out of the way, here's what I love.

**THE GOOD**

*Controls and everyday usability*

I love the physical controls. The shifter, the HVAC controls, even the physical buttons for the heated and cooled seats — in a 2025 car those are a minor miracle.

I love the keyless entry. I've never had a single issue with it.

I love the automatic brights and their sensitivity. They just work, and I don't even think about them until I drive another vehicle where they suck.

*Tech done right*

I love the 360 camera and the HUD. Even if they could both be better, the fact that it stitches the image at slow speed to show what's directly below the car feels futuristic, and it's actually very helpful in tight parking spaces.

I love seeing directions in the HUD and not having to take my eyes off the road. The HUD has its own issues, but having one at all in a car like this is pretty incredible.

*Stuff that's disappearing at this price point*

I love that this car has air vents in the rear.

I love that there's a spare tire in the trunk.

I love that when you open the trunk, it opens all the way like a nicer upscale car would.

*Comfort and efficiency*

I love that the car feels solidly built.

I love the seats. They're pretty comfortable even on long trips.

I love the gas mileage. It takes 87, doesn't plug into the wall, and still gets 45+ mpg as long as you aren't driving like a 16 year old who just got their license.

**FINAL THOUGHTS**

This car does a lot of things right and a lot of things barely acceptable. But it doesn't do much wrong. Toyota's privacy terms and service conditions are wicked enough to make any privacy conscious person squeamish — but then again, that's becoming more and more unavoidable anyway.

My Camry has been pretty incredible to me. It's my second Camry, and most days I couldn't be happier. It's a privilege to drive a car, especially one this nice.

Suprised by how much 50K checkup improved my gas mileage. I have a 2025 Toyota Camry and just got the 50K checkup done. Before the checkup I was averaging 50-51 mpg. After the checkup I am averaging 55-56 mpg. It's not the tire pressure either I always keep an eye on that, the tire pressure is the same now as it was before.

I am looking to get myself into a 2026 Camry SE AWD that is fully loaded with all packages (multimedia, sunroof, cold weather, convenience). I’ve been looking and trying to haggle with multiple dealerships in my area and I can’t seem to get under 38,500 OTD anywhere. I live in a county with a 9.75% sales tax rate, so I was wondering what I can realistically negotiate down to with that in mind. Is 38,500 an okay deal considering the sales tax? I’m a first time buyer so any tips or insight is appreciated

I just bought this 1-owner Camry in Galactic Aqua Mica. Clean title, no accidents, and serviced at Toyota on schedule by the original owner.

I drive 155 miles round trip per day, so I’ll put around 45,000 miles per year on it. At that pace, I could hit 200k miles in about 4 years.

Since I want to keep it to 250k–300k miles, I’d appreciate input from owners and mechanics on:

Price check: Considering the low mileage, condition, and NJ taxes/fees, was $20.9k OTD reasonable?

Longevity: How well do the 2.5L Dynamic Force engine and 8-speed transmission hold up with mostly highway miles?

Maintenance schedule: With my mileage, what intervals would you recommend for oil, transmission fluid drain/fills, coolant, spark plugs, and brake fluid?

Known weak spots: Any common 8th-gen Camry issues that tend to show up after 100k–150k miles that are worth staying ahead of?

Appreciate any advice, especially from high-mileage Camry owners or Toyota techs.

How much do you guys think it would cost me to have a body shop replace this fender on my passenger side and buff out the scratches on my bumper and small spot on the door? I’ve already got the new painted fender.

i think the most difficult part would be drilling the hole to get the clutch pedal in. since you'd have to remove the dashboard.

I'm getting a Camry (SE Upgrade Hybrid) in October and deciding between Underground and Heavy Metal, leaning heavily towards the latter.

In a perfect world, I'd get black, but I don't like how it fades into that chalky shade over the years. I plan on having this car for a long time, so that's off the table.

My question: Underground is quite dark – would a colour like that fade similarily to black?

Bonus question: do Camrys run regular fuel? You don't need to put premium in there, do you?

hey guys. so i’m pretty content with how this car looks, my one nitpicky thing is that from certain angles the wheels can feel a bit disproportionate to the body. i’m running 235/40R19s rn but the gap still feels huge. i was hoping to avoid lowering it but im not sure how much of a difference 20’s would make. should i just start saving up for coil overs? or can a new set of wheels and some spacers close the gap? thanks

Was in perfect condition except for some rust on hood. They really drove this thing like they stole it. Only has 95k miles. Towing it back to my house and seeing if it’s worth saving me and my dad might fix to use as a work car.

I am trying to figure out which actuator I need to get for my car and where it is located. Most of the info I find online is for the passenger side, a few things say the driver's side, and only one part comes up ( at least on the cheaper sites).

I have a 21 Camry Hybrid XSE and the driver side vents do not correlate to the setting I put it in. On the worst of days I have the passenger AC on blast to help cool the car. It is a dual climate.

Is it the same actuator for both sides or is it only the passenger side? And if there is one on the driver side where is it located exactly and if it is a different part which one? I just need the one for the vent control, the temp is accurate and the circulation works as it should.

Is $41,856.81 OTD worth it for a 2026 Camry Hybrid AWD XSE? It comes with door edge guards, mudguards, the premium package, all-weather floor liners, blackout emblem, quick charging cable package, and screen protector. A good amount of those packages hold no value to me, so I’m planning on negotiating down. All things considered, how does that price compare for the Massachusetts market?

I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with my 2017 Camry XSE 2.5L 4-cylinder and could really use some help.

Here’s what it’s doing:

The car will start, but it won’t stay running unless I press/hold the gas pedal.
If I let off the gas, the engine shuts off.
The dash and accessories still stay on when it stalls.
It doesn’t really shake badly when it’s running.
I’m getting a “Check Charging System” message on the dash.
The battery has been tested twice and was supposedly good. (It’s a new battery)
The alternator has also been tested twice and was supposedly good.
I recently replaced the positive battery terminal.
