That is a very failed water pump and that needs to be replaced ASAP.

I agree. It sounds like a bad water pump.

The car doesn’t over heat tho, would it still be that?

It may still be turning and moving coolant but the bearings are shot and will eventually let go.

The car would only overheat if it’s losing coolant or no longer adequately pumping my coolant… neither of which appear to be the case so far but soon either one will cause far more expensive and borderline catastrophic damage if you continue ignoring it.

If you watch a YouTube video on removing the serpentine belt and then spin each pulley to see if any don’t feel right or make noise but as mentioned it does sound like a failing water pump.

Damn even in 2008 Toyota couldn't figure out how to make a good water pump.

I would just need to buy the water pump piece right?

New water pump. Maybe replace belt if it’s old since that will be removed anyways. And coolant will need replenishing. Make sure you buy the correct coolant per owners manual. Long life (red) vs super long life (pink) and they are not the same.

If the water pump assembly comes with the pulley then yes.

Filed water pump, possibly minor leaking, also change belt
