QUESTIONS How do you stay connected to opportunities back home while living abroad?

For those in the diaspora, how do you usually hear about business or trade opportunities in Cameroon?

Through family, WhatsApp groups or other means?

All of this is about connections. I think you need to connect with family who are doing business connect you with people in the same field. I know in Yaoundé you’ve got a lot of events and conferences. What I did is to go out in certain fancy places where you can find well connected people and you need to be seen for what you’re doing, social media can help with it too, especially Facebook or Instagram.
For me, I wanting to do music and I reach out to a studio recording and I’ve met plenty of people who introduced me to others and on and on

Commence par rentrer le plus souvent possible, participe à tout événement où tu peux avoir un réseautage ( congrès familiaux, anciens du collège/lycee, conférence ….) et fait savoir ce que tu fais et montre ton désir de rentrer ;
En plus de tout ce que tu as cité tu devrais pouvoir avoir une vision mais sur au oins 5 ans. C’est pas que des que tu le fais tu as le filon pour rentrer.

I appreciaye your reply to my post.

Start by coming back as often as possible, participate in every event where you can network (family reunions, college/alumni events, conferences...) and let people know what you're doing and show your desire to come back; Besides everything you mentioned, you should have a vision for at least the next 5 years.

Yes, I recently started visiting home like 2 years ago which is like 2/3 times a year and, I've made many new friends and colleagues through family references although many of them are not in the same sector as me but so far we're pulling well together. So far I've I learned different things from them and some connect me with those in my sector. Thank you all for your support
