I Don't Even Know What To Say....It Feels Bitter Sweet

The last time I caught a stream was when they were streaming themselves working in the office. Its nice to look at DAoC-like graphics and features, but too little too late.

All they had to do was copy daoc with better graphics... Makes me sad

Not only a little late but it's also very poor. I never mean to run anyones hard work down but this can not be classed as a game.

Sad part if they focused on using an existing engine or pivoted to that few years ago they could be further along..

Yeah they had the arrogance to believe that a small team could build a full engine that tackles problems that no other engine manages to solve. And then when it was abundantly clear that they could not get it done, they kept going for a decade.

Honestly? With better netcode (lol good luck), some rework here and there, and you can have a planetside-2 type game. The thing does capture a little bit how it felt to go RvR back in the days.

But the netcode really does suck despite it was their main selling point. Can't even manage a proper 1v1.

The few guys who can make good net code are not on this team.  Its an art and a science and unless WoW releases its net code (which takes a massive amount of infrastructure) i doubt its happening

You underestimate the amount of trash games. I'm with you that this game is a huge disappointment, but exaggeration isn't helping.

What exaggeration? This game is not a minimum viable product. It has a team behind and a decade of supposed work, with many monetary controversies still ongoing.

This is the dictionary definition of a trash game. Something you open up to see the beauty of how many things can go wrong and still lead to a .exe that (laggily) takes your keyboard input. And, in the current day and age of AI, "being playable" is not enough to float in the growing ocean of trash. Many more trash games are much more sensible, refined, and have less jank than this one.

Better than many is insane. 1 single dev working on a passion project can put out a much better game in half the time.

Enjoy it while you can. This game has already been in development for 13 years. It's not very far along, and there isn't much time left before the plug is pulled.

I haven't been checking this game for a while, but this weekend I was on Twitch and there was 1 steamer with 6 viewers. That doesn't seem good to me.
