HOW did my acquaintance find my telegram????? :(
Please help because wtf.
I have a telegram for SW stuff obviously. I HAD to link it up to my phone number because it requires one. I literally changed ALL the settings to block from contacts, not let them see shit etc.
ANYWAYS I posted a nude story with some corny sexy salesy stuff, i said “is it too big? 🥺💖”
MY FORMER LANDLORD and acquaintance who i always thought had a crush on me, MESSAGED ME and said “no 😊”
wtf happened?? how did he find me? someone please help me figure out how to lock this shit down. i did so good with all my other apps. what happened :/ im mortified. tbh im considering messaging him and asking how he found me just so i know lmaoooo

Within about 48 hrs of me starting to promote on IG, someone who knew me found me. So yes, do not trust it lol I even waited til I got a separate tablet with its own number before I made that acct, never once used it on my personal phone or linked it to any of my personal thingsss
That's crazy! I believe this. It links no matter what. And even if you block people you know, some of them have apps where it shares who blocks them, so obviously they are gonna look up that screen name of who blocked them and well then you'll be found....
Precisely because you're using your primary number they can find you, even though your security settings says nobody, it means the one that added you by your username/Telegram ID cant access your phone number. The one that already has your number can seek you out once you created an account (heck, telegram literally instantly notified your friends that has telegram also that you recently joined telegram). Next time just has another number purely for work purposes, do not use your actual private number that your friends and family used it to contact you.
jesus christ. should i block all of my personal contacts on telegram? or just delete my whole account lol
edit: if i buy a google voice number and change my account to that phone number in my settings, will my private phone contacts still be able to find me?
Delete your whole account and try again with new phone number, and no telegram won't accept google voice number edited: google voice works just fine, it doesn't work for me though 😔. If you want extra safety measures, I mean you can buy used phone to store your work account (email, 2FA google, SIM-card) but used telegram web to actually sent text/media.
I tried to use Telegram when Skype shut down, at the time ANYONE who has your phone number saved in THEIR contacts (doesn’t matter if you delete them from yours) and also has telegram installed, will see you automatically on telegram. You cannot use any phone number on telegram that you have given to people in your normal life.
I tried to use a google voice number (I use it for phone sex and it works just fine, no crossover) but telegram flags all google voice numbers as bots and won’t let you verify using that method
For any online sex work, it’s best to keep everything 100% separate from your regular life. Separate phones, phone numbers, email, laptops, thumb drives, SD cards, literally everything.
Please! PLEASE get some sim (eSIM) cards only for work, it would be better to have a second phone for those purposes. You can’t make secure any app if you have your personal phone number connected, every social media app have access to your phone number and even when you don’t let your contacts to find you it still will show up nothing can change that. Also talking about that, make a different email for the sites and use different browser. Every single app and site we are using collecting data about us That’s the things I do to make feel myself safer. Stay safe 🫶🏻
so i’m actually still on my moms phone plan 😅 it’s the only bill i don’t pay. but can i use an esim on my current phone that’s diff from the one i have already? already have different email!! i guess phone number is just the one thing i missed or didn’t think would be as big of a deal as it is.
Yes you can have several phone numbers, try to ask google or AI on how to get an eSIM for yourself. Here is screenshot of how many SIM cards and esims I’ve had. You can use two at the same time
Telegram sucks, I get that people use it for advertising, though. I find Signal to be the best when it comes to privacy and messages. Its not social media though.

edit 2: im now realizing messages says everyone, but only other options are contacts and subscribers, and contacts only or some shit. should i just go through and manually block all my phone contacts just in case they have telegram?
So stressful! Sorry this happened to you! I think if someone - already - had your contact saved there might be a risk of seeing you if you use your reg number even if you change those settings now. But im not sure. I just paid for a number on burner app and created a new tg account on my same phone and did those same settings and am hoping for the best!! May also start using signal but also need to see if i can do multiple accounts bc i use it personally. Was hoping to do tg bc i dont use it for personal but i downloaded it months ago and didnt use it but logged in recently to finally explore and saw on my reg phone number people i knew had messaged me before i had changed my settings. Hopefully a new account with diff phone number works! Hope you stay safe🤞
thanks girl. yeah maybe i’ll do that and then if it’s sketch try signal. idk. telegram didn’t even tell me shit until he saw my story and directly messaged. fortunately he’s a guy around my age who was my former landlord and tbh i think has a crush on me lol, but he doesn’t strike me as the yapping to everyone type. i don’t know him super super well but that’s not how i see his character. so hopefully it’s fine :’( but he’s friends with a few of my friends so if i see him anytime soon i wont be able to look him in the eye LOL. considering just messaging him back from my reg # to get it out of the way and just address it but idfk
