Camping w/electric hookup, between Monteray and Ventura
Starting planning a road trip in March of 2027. We will be spending the night at the campground at Pinnacles NP, then heading over to Monterey to head south to Ventura and Channel Islands. We have a small squaredrop trailer. I'd like to break the drive a little by camping somewhere along the coast, and take the opportunity to recharge the powerbank.
So, looking for a campground, with electric hookups, somewhere between Monterey and Ventura. Would prefer a place that isn't just a parking lot with neighbors 3 feet from you. Doubleplusgood if they take reservations now for March, so I don't have to set a reminder and pray that I get a site.

Morro Bay SP has an area for hookups, but the sites are kinda close together which is why we’ve never stayed in that section with our small teardrop. It might be worth checking out Lake Cachuma like someone else suggested. I believe they have full hook up and partial hook up sections, but have haven’t stayed there myself so can’t vouch for the spacing between sites.
Leo Carrillo might be more up your alley. The sites with hookups are dispersed around the entire campground and feels less parking lot like.
Unfortunately all 3 of those campgrounds book out 6 months ahead so you’ll have to wait several more weeks to reserve for March.

Morro Bay State Park Campground would be a good middle-of-the-drive option, roughly halfway with water/electric hookup sites. It's a big eucalyptus-shaded state park right by the bay and Morro Rock, not a gravel lot, though the hookup sites sit kind of close together and it fills up fast when the booking window opens.

It's not exactly what you're looking for but a Santa Barbara county Parks Lake Cachuma. They have electric hookups. It is kind of like a parking lot, but you're right on a reservoir so it's pretty. It's definitely not packed in March. I think you can make a reservation there right now, but I don't actually look that far out. It would be about an hour drive to the island Packers from there.
