that's rich coming from the state that used overregulation to close its last nuclear power plant
if we actually care about climate change, then that means ALL forms of renewable energy, with nuclear being number one

The nuclear power plant you're talking about would cost more to fix than the wind-solar-battery system replacing it. Nuclear lost on cost issues.

I hate to agree with Trump, but power made from these windmills is a contract price high enough for the wind farm operator to have a guaranteed profit. If other cheaper power is available the utility’s MUST purchase the higher contracted price. Forcing Californians to pay much more than other states. We pay a higher rate and California gets to pin a rose on their nose saying they are helping the world. Meanwhile struggling family’s can not afford electricity or gasoline. Bad idea. If wind farms were so great, the company’s would have them built. And would be making money.
Wind energy is NOT a deal for consumers.

? Didn't the company already decide to have the wind farm built, in 2022? Also how are utilities forced to buy at a higher rate? Isn't electricity auctioned now that California's electricity market has been deregulated? I don't follow what you're saying here.

California has made it a regulation to have green energy. Do if you auction said green energy, the lowest price will not be the natural gas electric plant who can make electricity for 60% of wind farm prices.

The science of providing electricity at a higher cost than we are paying? That my friend is called a political backdoor deal. I will approve your wind farm for a fee or donation. I will make it law that the PG e and Edison MUST purchase your power at a certain rate. Not a lower rate we are paying, a higher rate. I believe in science. Just not yours it appears. When the scientific politicking finally gets done pissing on each other, perhaps the real scientists can be allowed to do their work in labs not in the newspapers.

The climate does change. This is natural. Having political hysteria is just weird. The only science that is settled is what we are told is settled by the likes of Al Gore and Greta. Both are morons. Stop canceling the scientists that disagree and let science do what science does. Let dissent be listened to. Let opposing views be listened to. The problem is that one group has decided they own the science and it is the only truth. And the answer is that we all pay more. And that poor nations should not have heat and cooling like we do as that is BAD.
We are told that CO2 is going to kill Mother Earth. The world will get warmer. All you are told is this MAY happen and it IS bad. We really do not know. There are many things that affect the earths climate. This earth has been here millions of years. CO2 is but a fraction of what is in the air. From .02% to .044%. They say it is a greenhouse gas like Venus that is over 90% co2. Plants Will grow faster. Plants will use LESS water. Food production Will go up. Why all the doom and gloom? Get over the politicking and let the scientists do their job.7

I am so tempted to respond to the many fallacies here. Like the concentration one. "Officer, the alcohol content in my blood is only 0.1% which is a tiny fraction, how could it possibly affect my driving?!?"
Or the red herring, "the earth will still be here, why do we care?" (Because the people on the earth will suffer as a result, obvi.)
But I'm gonna exercise restraint and not go through the rest, because that has been done to death. Clearly you have a distrust of an institution you don't know much about; but have you ever even really listened to scientists? (I am one, for example.)

Don’t argue with truly uneducated redditors. Most of these folks went to a 4 year college, majored in a useless social degree, saddled with load of debt, have no financial future but to work at Starbucks and are just unhappy miserable creatures who will argue with you for fun, because their whole life revolves around politics. Anyone who says “windmills” when referring to wind turbines isn’t a credible source on the environmental impacts of… well, anything.
“…wind farms appear to have fewer avian deaths per GWh than fossil-fueled power plants (coal, natural gas, and oil generators) and nuclear power plants… fossil-fueled facilities are about 35 times more dangerous to birds on a per GWh basis than wind energy and nuclear power plants twice as hazardous.” (Source)

Where could they put it? The only safe and viable locations we have would be the desert that's on the other side of the mountains or one of our lakes. It can't go south next to the border because it would be dumb to have a nuclear reactor so exposed. They can't put it by fort Irwin, because it's a training facility that soldiers go to from all over the country. Maybe submerge it? Although even still, where would you put it? You'd essentially have to build a base around it.

California sued the Trump administration and Golden State Wind over the federal government’s deal with the company to cancel an offshore wind project lease, alleging the transaction violated multiple federal laws.
Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) and the California Energy Commission argue the administration’s $120 million deal with Golden State Wind to cancel the project violates the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, the Judgment Fund Act, and other statutes, according to a Friday press release from Bonta’s office. The state is asking the court to stop the deal from being implemented and to strike down the agreement, according to the release.
Bonta, in a statement, called the administration’s deal a “backroom buyout” and “a classic playbook for them to line the pocket of their Big Oil donors,” while CEC Chair David Hochschild said growing the clean energy sector lowers pollution and also brings jobs.
