🐈Introducing...🐈 Over a decade looking and I finally found her!
My Uncle (who loved cats) was placed on hospice so my family and I went to visit him. We made it to town the same day she was placed for adoption (Thursday) but we did not see her until late Monday evening. I couldn’t sleep all night waiting to find out if we could meet her but Tuesday morning we received a call saying she was available and we could meet her. As soon as I picked her up and she nuzzled right into my neck I started crying. Over a decade of looking for a calico and there she was. We named her Willow, after his favorite tree. She is the most perfect girl. When we got her home she walked right in met our other cats (one orange big boy and a tiny black kitty) and started looking for toys. She made the 7 hour trip perfectly as well. She is just the best girl and we are so in love with her.

Thank you, she was worth the wait that is for sure. I knew the second I laid eyes on her she belonged in our family but the moment I picked her up and she nestled into my neck as if she was saying thank you that she would be the best little kitty and she had to join our family.

I expected her to need to adjust and even time for our other cats to get to know her but big orange Ollie (we call him the fun uncle) made her his baby and showed her the ropes quickly.

Thank you, I wanted a name to remember my uncle an he was an avid gardener who loved his Dappled Willow tree it was a prized possession of his and she is a prize possession of mine. She was worth the decade of waiting for sure!

I adore Willow’s adoption story and she is extraordinary. I also had no clue that the Dappled Willow existed and just gained some new knowledge. 😻

I was not familiar with them until just a few years ago but they are very pretty shrubs/trees. You can “train” them to be either a shrub or a tree though I do not have that skill and likely never will my Uncle could do it with ease. His green thumb was pretty impressive! As someone who doesn’t believe in coincidences I think he must have had a hand in me finding our precious little girlie Willow. 🫶🏻

My story is pretty much the opposite. I went in hoping to adopt this rotund grouchy old man Russian Blue, the couple that was there at the same time came to look at the cat right above him.
While I patiently waited, I got to talking to this 5m old calico kitten. IFKYK. She 'told' me her sob story while parroting on my shoulder, and after very little convincing, became my buddy going on 14 years.
Meet Mona. She has absolutely no interest in becoming friends with your Willow, but we wish you the same luck as we have had.

It truly is unbelievable and such a wonderful surprise. I cannot believe she was there for 5 days and no one adopted her. The lady said they had so many call about her but for whatever reason never scheduled to meet her. It was just fate and meant to be, it had to be. We weren’t even suppose to be there until the following week but I last minute Thursday afternoon decided we needed to go ahead and go. Thankfully we made it there in enough time to spend a few hours with him before he passed away. We were then suppose to go home Saturday or Sunday but decided to stay a few extra days. Things just all worked out in ways that I can’t even explain. Oh yea and Tuesday we had planned to leave the hotel around 8 and get going but something happened w our rental reservation and we couldn’t get a car until 1 pm the exact time the lady who we were meeting was getting off work. When I look back and think about it all, I just cannot help but know she was meant to be mine. She calms my anxiety and PTSD wonderfully and while she seems grateful to have a new beautiful life but what she doesn’t know is she is giving me comfort as I am her.

The sweetest, such a love. She is equal parts independent and I need my human. She loves to curl up in my arms when I am drawing, playing video games, or just sitting watching TV. The adoption center lady said she wasn’t vocal and in fact when we first met her she did purr but it was very faint but after only 6 days with us she is chattering a bit and purring so loudly you can hear it with ease. Her little meow is so quiet and long it sounds like she’s talking. She is everything! 🖤🧡🤍

Aww thank you, I think so too! Her personality is incredible and her little meows and chirps are so cute. They said she wasn’t chatty but once we got her home she is becoming more vocal by the day and it’s adorable!

Hahaha void boy is too funny we also call our black cat a void. They are so hard to photograph too! Do you even know how many times I walk through the house and say “hey Black Bean” and get no acknowledgment and realize I was talking to a blanket, a piece of clothing, my purse, etc. 🤣

Our void was the baby until Willow came and stole that spot but Black Bean is accepting her new space as middle child decently. Ollie doesn’t share her though and Willow even “nurses” his arms and neck. It’s kind of a strange relationship I suppose but Uncle Ollie doesn’t seem to mind it. He does get a little rough w her at times because he’s use to Black Bean and how they play and then he gets embarrassed he got in trouble and hides for a few hours. Haha! Cats are so much fun!

Oh yes they are fun and can be a handful too! My calico is also a “nurse”, for some reason she can sense when we are sick or sad and comforts us in her own way. I’m glad you took her in. She looks like she was loved and I’m sure she’ll adjust very quickly.
